POI with the same picture added six times

Is there anything that can be done about a POI having the same picture added to it multiple times? It looks ridiculous and I'd love to know if there's a solution.
I'm also super curious as to how this could even happen, did the submitter nominate it six times and it get stuck in the queue and then auto added in or something?

You could ask someone like @NianticLC to remove 5 of the duplicates. As for why it was submitted 6 times, who knows what was going through the mind of the submitter.
I could maybe understand and forgive it if it was just submitted twice as there could've been some issue, but 6 times is just bizarre haha.
It really is bizarre, huh? I'm hoping it just got stuck in the queue such a long time that they kept resubmitting it cos adding more of the exact same picture to try triggering it to turn to a gym eventually is pretty poor form.

Another thing: either the nominator spammed it to get it through, or to add more photos so it is more likely to become a gym later in Pokémon GO. Both scenarios are abuse of Wayfarer, so I hope someone steps in.

Submit six times, get it approved once, get the next five marked as duplicate.
Lots of people are spamming the same submission over and over again these days, and it's a tax on the Wayfarer system. Every review of a spam submission is wasted time that the reviewer could spend reviewing something new and interesting instead.
I'm hoping it's just a mistake to be honest. The submitter has their username visible and they've created other POIs in the area (although with fairly poor quality pictures - pretty sure they own a potato for a phone - so I'm adding a better picture to those I walk past) which are totally legit and nothing amiss with.
Try submitting something over 30-40 times, and then somewhere around the 25th iteration of it going into voting it gets accepted because reviewers are tired, and because of such, you still have to review it endless times because it's been submitted to oblivion.
Niantic did f*** all and dupes are still being added every day.
Is this something to do with Pokémon GO, where the amount of 👍 and photos makes a certain POI into a gym?
It could also be something submitted multiple times as mentioned, and duplicates just being added.
A perfectly innocent reason could be dependant on the flow of submissions.
Someone submits a wayspot. They know nothing about having a place to track the nomination. 2 months later and nothing has happened. Ordinary player assumes as per usual there is a Niantic bug better resubmit……. repeat for a few years.
in other words we have no idea why this has happened. Until Niantic improve communication I don’t think it’s worth sending this person anything.
This is not an accident, it’s not weird, it’s abuse on the part of the nominator, and it’s bad for Wayfarer.
Related: Niantic will do absolutely nothing to stop it.
