Good photo, good supporting description, and write what criteria, you think it falls under. And make sure it's not on school ground or on orivate property.
I think it would help if you could put those nominations here. The categories are not consistent standards for what is eligible/acceptable, each nomination would have different merits. Can't compare with @FruSkatteKat-PGO 's without more context, an object might merit uniqueness for their location differently than another. This one has artistic merit IMO and its a park sign too, location is ok also, at which point it isn't just a categorical bug hotel. Generic ones or at places where they are prevalent, you'll need a strong argument.
It would help if it had info signs like zoos, that would lean me towards the exploration angle. Or the location has nature educational tours. Without context, I'm thinking 'do not disturb, move along, animal habitat' just an object put there but not inherently eligible.
A question: Aren't these intended to be a safe habitat for insects (or birds or other wildlife in shelters for them)? Are they intended to be educational and visited, or they intended to help keep the critters safe and healthy?
For me they are marginal. They don't really meet criteria. However you do occasionally get one that is so spectacular that I would pass on artistic merit as worthy of exploration. Your example does seem to have an information sign on if so it is clearly intended for people to look at it and learn about it. I wouldn't reject your one but it is not a 5* nomination.
So, you write a doctoral thesis for every nomination? Most of information I see as a reviewer are like “perfect stop” or “historical” I think I give way more effort to my nominations, but you guys take this thing waaaaay to seriously… it’s a game! It won’t change your life! And it won’t hurt you in any way to let other people play this game too.. all people who live in cities with 10.000.000 dump Wayspots are way to critical, because they don’t care about nothing but themself playing
I especially don't like it when bee hives are submitted. Those are potentially dangerous pokestops because too many kids in the world have bee sting allergies
They can be worse for the insects and bees if not built correctly, cleaned and maintained. They can end up spreading disease and creating habitats that are harmful to the creatures using them.
Most that I see are not looked after and tend to be bought from a shop or built from scraps of wood etc.
The key part for me is if there's a sign or educational material nearby - I always try to ensure that my submitted candidates are things whose primary purpose is to be enjoyed by humans. An insect hotel might not be so, but an educational sign about that hotel? Definitely not made for the bugs to read. :)

For exploring 🙂
There is a large bughotel in my city that just became a wayspot 😊
So, why they get rejected every time? I think the reviewers in my area are just a**holes …

Also the ones that are bought from Obi or whatever Baumarkt often won't make it, especially if they don't seem very durable

Yes they are. They get also built for education
Does it worth a fourth upgrade..? It’s my last one.. but I think it should be a wayspot
Judging from the photos it might be rejected for being at someone's house
Look at the photo showing the area around it, it’s directly at the street
Private property extends to the lean and maybe the ditch for Wayfarer
So, I meant to say, if a reviewer will get the impression from your photo, they might reject for Private Property.
If you want to be safe from this, I'd recommend trying to not show the house on your main photo

I would not upgrade (or submit, for that matter) something that has a description copypasted from Wikipedia.
