First nomination - which photo would be best for this library?

Hello, I am gearing up to make my first nomination, I'm very excited and proud of my local library and want to do it justice.
I took a couple photos but I wanted to ask for feedback on which would be "best" - this will help guide me for other nominations I've got planned as well. I've reviewed quite a lot at this point so I have an idea of what *not* to do.
Thank you in advance!
Option 1: Full on straight photo of the front entrance, the building name is slightly obscured.
Option 2: Slightly angled photo of the front entrance with the building name fully visible, also has a small tree in the foreground.
Option 3: Close-cropped photo of the building name alone.

Hello and welcome @yllsa-PGO
it is exciting 😎
and I think it’s great you have been doing reviewing and learning from it 👍
Personally I prefer the second one as the place name is clear and it’s a nice building. just in case you could say in the supplementary taken at a slight angle to allow building name to be clear.
You have done your homework on S2 cells and spacing ?
Good luck
@yllsa-PGO
I vote 20230316_075921.jpg - it's nicely centered, symmetry of the paving/garden looks nicer, tree fully in view but not too focused, and the '5 minute parking' sign isn't so visible.
There's a sign of this library very nearby. Usually, signs are the 'GPS anchor point' for the actual Wayspot (if the nomination is large, like a building, we often use a sign if any, or the entrance) but this one seems a bit far off, plus I can't find it on Streetview. Reviewers -might- mark your nomination as a duplicate if they see that sign nearby. You might want to check the area for that sign, and if it gets rejected on account of 'duplicate', tell the reviewer beforehand that it is not a wrongly placed sign or something on your next try. It might be a directional sign to it?
Your nomination will be far better than that sign, so I hope it gets through.
It may be you are seeing the Old Library POI - what I plan to submit is the new library that was opened in 2020. The old library still exists as a location where people can get free potable water (this sounds quaint, but since it is a waypoint I typically see several people stop by to get water in the short time I am there every morning! A literal "watering hole" lol. That's rural life for you.)
I have already submitted an update to the old library POI to rename it as Old St. Paul Hollywood Library and information on its current utility to the town. I was considering waiting to submit the new library until the change went through, and yes I should include the above info on the supporting justification.
Thank you!
Hi @yllsa-PGO
I prefer the first pic but the lettering not being 100% visible puts me off. It shouldn't really matter but it can be frustrating to be rejected by click happy reviewers who maybe don't take the appropriate time to look at your submission because of the blocked out lettering.
Could you straighten up the second a wee bit and take out some of the extraneous path and greenery for your main pic?
Maybe more like this?
I saw the Town Hall up the road from the Library isn't added yet. If you are going to submit a few things I would definitely take @Elijustrying-ING 's advice and find out about S2 cells if you don't already know.
Good luck.
I like the third one with just the name, and the second one as a supporting, but I do think you have to wait until that “Old Library POI’ is addressed, or this will definitely get rejected as a duplicate.
Yes! the town hall and the aquatics center are also on my list! there's also a community garden behind the library. your photo edit looks amazing, i will take the suggestion and edit myself so it's for sure not a 3rd party photo 😉 we've also got the VA Hall/Senior Center up the street, Morrison's Burger Hut near the post office too! i love my little town! when people say "my town doesn't have any POI", i say get out there and look!
No worries, that was just a quick edit. I'm sure you can improve it much more.
Around the new library currently looks like this.
If a cell has two wayspots both will be added to the Lightship map but only will appear in Go.
*only one
I would include this link in the support info to prove that this is the current location of the library.
Oh! There's a good chance I might get to review this since my home location is set in the Low Country.
Well I hope you'll consider it! I will make sure to include lots of supporting info! Thank you
Thank you so much for your advice everyone, my nomination was approved!!
i love good news.
Thanks for the update…….
And good luck with the others
Out of curiousity - What photo did you end up using?
That was so much better👍
