How are nominations selected by Niantic to go into Niantic voting?
In the last week, I've submitted over 40 nominations which is probably the most I have ever submitted in that short of a concentrated period. I looked at my contributions on Wayfarer an hour ago, and was surprised that 5 of them have been selected to go into Niantic voting already. Even more have gone into regular voting and 2 have been decisioned already. Meanwhile, I still have nominations from late 2021 still in queue.
So am I just really lucky to have 5 new nominations already in Niantic voting, or what exactly is determining how these nominations were selected?

Niantic will not be publishing the algorithm, including in the future.
Therefore, we can only speculate.
And while some of it is an open secret, Niantic does not like to be mentioned.
So we need to be mature and pretend that we know but don't know.
Because many of those things have been regulated when they have been abused and so on.
Niantic have mentioned that they are "quasi randomly" selected in the past, and they have also mentioned that a new submitter's first few nominations will be treated differently (maybe that's them going to voting?).
I would also think they monitor any abuse areas etc., so if you have happened to nominate in an area where there's a lot of known fakes, they may go off for Voting with Niantic.
Trigger words can also send your nominations to niantic. This does however lead to abuse
Not a new submitter. I have submitted probably around 500 (or maybe even more) nominations in the past, with the majority of them successful. I've maybe submitted 20 or so nominations in total this year before my big week last week. I'm in an area that is pretty much fake-free. And don't see anything unusual with any of the words in the title or description.
