Temporarily Disabling Location Edits

Hi folks,
We’ll be temporarily disabling the ability to suggest edits to PokéStops via Pokémon GO and Portals via Ingress.
We’ll be using this downtime to implement features that will address an issue that allows for Wayspots to be clustered and overloaded in a single area.
If you’re aware of locations that have been affected, you can report them to us directly through this form.
I’ll be posting updates on this discussion thread as they’re available. Thanks for your patience!

Hi folks,
I wanted to provide an update on the status of this feature since a bit of time has passed. There has been quite a bit of work done, not just on the features that will address an issue that allows for Wayspots to be clustered and overloaded in a single area but also a few other aspects of location edits as well.
Unfortunately, this work is taking longer than we expected so this feature is still offline for the time being with the goal of bringing it back by the end of July.
Thanks again for your patience, I'll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
Hi folks,
Thanks so much for your patience. We’re happy to let you know that Wayspot location edits have been re-enabled for Portals via Ingress and for PokéStops via Pokémon GO.
As we mentioned, we leveraged this downtime to implement safeguards against an issue that allows for Wayspots to be overloaded in a single area.
Wayspot edits are now limited to 10m from the accepted location. If a Wayspot needs to be moved beyond this, please report the Wayspot to us directly so that we can evaluate the Wayspot and update it to more accurately reflect the real-world location. Issues with a Wayspot location can be reported via the 'Report an Issue' form: http://bit.ly/LocationUpdateRequest
Additionally, as some Wayfinders had abused this to their benefit by moving Wayspots away from their actual location at the detriment of the community at large, these users will be receiving the appropriate punishments within the Wayfarer system.
If you’re aware of locations that have been affected, you can report them to us directly through this form.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding!
(Edit 11 Sept: Updated to reflect the new request process)
