Thank you all for such an eventful voting period and congratulations to España! Spain will be the host of our next Wayfarer Global Reviewer Challenge. What's next? The Ambassadors have already kicked off the new reward tiers and reward ideas. We will continue working to narrow those down and will update you all when we have more along with the dates of the challenge. To all of our new Wayfarer Explorers, welcome to Wayfarer and we can't wait to hear about your first challenge experience!

Lord have mercy. As of 00:59 our Ambassador channels all switched over to Spanish! Thank goodness Taiwan didn't win, I would be totally lost...
If I'm picking either Seville, Malaga or Gibraltar for bonus location, is there any chance that I'll got nominations from Portugal and/or Morocco?

Welcome to the European experience. If the normal bonus location will be used without any modifications, you will get other countries and territories additionally to Spain depending on your placement. Mostly the range of bonus location won't reach far enough though, unless for some specific places.
Neighbouring countries of Spain:
France, Andorra, Portugal, Morocco (Ceuta and Melilla), Gibraltar (whatever UK/GB kind of territory that is)
Theoretically you could also reach Algeria with a certain placement

How about real wayfarer reward, like, sponsored wayspot for a month? Any coordinates provided by reviewer who participated, as long as it's public place, not prp / school / etc. To avoid photo/text abuse, give it wayfarer logo and text, "this wayspot appeared here for a month during wayfarer anomaly".

As you are new here it is important for you to know that we try to keep things friendly in this forum.
Your post is unhelpful as it makes accusations without proof. Wayfarer staff are the only people that access all the data.
We have a result and it’s time to move on. Details will follow once finalised.
I live in Madrid, and I review nominations from France, Andorra, Portugal, Gibraltar and Morocco. But they’re not so common, I guess if you pick a southern location you’ll have a better chance.

If you set the location on Majorca I am sure there will be many contributions by bored German 14y olds that had to spend their Easter holiday there.
You don't need to know Spanish.
I'm from Barcelona and I review nominations from Andorra, (South) France and even Gibraltar. I don't remember from Portugal and surely never from Morocco, so you're best chance to get from those countries is a southern location.
Ok so I'd love to know how many lvl 1 accounts were made only to vote and how many people used multiple accounts.
So staff, please disclose the details, for all countries, I want to know how many REAL people voted instead of these inflated and fake votes
For the Spanish people that answered about location:
Bonus location is smaller than your home or play location. You are less likely to have it overlap into another country, with a placement in Madrid for example, you would not get any other country.
Thank you! Do we know the boundaries of the bonus location? I mean, I guess it’s determined by S2 cells, but which level? I remember reading about it some time ago, but I fear my info might be outdated.
@SlyerZDK-PGO my personal view is that I always like openness.
Niantic does not normally follow that route.
If you look around the forum you will find many instances of staff simply saying they will not disclose details.
In short I would start by not expecting anything and be pleasantly surprised if something turns up.
It is up to them, and I’m sure they will be aware of this view.
In the meantime we must move on as speculation and accusation is just going to go round in a circle and create a negative atmosphere which is not welcoming.
@patsufredo-PGO did a brilliant job of helping people be briefed about Indonesia. I hope to see some insider knowledge about Spain.
It's S2 Level 7, a pretty small one. Centre of your set location + the 8 surrounding cells.
Since Indonesia Challenge, a few people have asked for it to be adjusted during it, so if they manage to do it, it will not behave the same way
Something to note about Spain is that have two groups of islands, one in Mediterranean Sea (Balear Islands) near Iberian Peninsula and one in Atlantic Ocean (Canary Islands) more close to any African country than Spain. Recently I review from Canary Islands with my location set in Barcelona but I hope that they will get a nice push with the GRC.
We are aware of that, and also Ceuta y Melilla.
When will the challenge start?
Also, I have a question for Spanish people: I would love to set my bonus location in Mallorca, but I'm afraid there will not be that many POIs nominations to review, so i would like to now from someone that lives there, or on the country's coast facing, Mallorca if this is true or if there are a lot of nominations instead. Thanks

Did any Ambassadors raise the potential pitfalls of having an open vote with no regulation?
Did any Ambassadors highlights that a popularity vote between two European neighbours would most likely get very competitive and possibly lead to bickering and abuse?

The intention was that the post would simply be closed and remain read only. However in spite of being closed it was still possible to vote, it had to be removed.
Thank you so much. That’s indeed the info I had, but I’d swear that when reviewing at the Indonesia challenge I had some nominations beyond the S2 Lvl7 limit. I must be wrong then.
If I remember correctly there wasn't enough data by some wayfarers who collected it during that event to prove it, but it can be that the bonus location was modified during that event, and it can well be for Spain too.
Niantic can't disclose us how exactly they will do it, but saying "Hey the range by Bonus location is increase for this event would be nice
