Yeah, I don't think this "fix" is doing anything. My upgraded noms have been in voting for the past month atleast and still aren't resolved. They said it should resolve the issue in the next few days (3 days ago) so it should do something soon right?
Maybe we should get a global "Old nominations & upgrades" - challenge.
Just all stuff older than x months and all things upgraded. And just global. So no select country, just oldest first, were ever they may be located. Getting them out of the system.
With a maximum duration, but if resolved earlier then it ends earlier. Just to keep the objective clear.
Maybe this will get all the old and stuck out of the system. This might be the easiest and straight forward solution to get the sticky nominations cleared up.
Anything stuck after that and older than x months get auto rejected and reward an Upgrade so you can resub the nomination.
So no double stuff gets left in the system and get the system moving towards working smooth again. Less stuff stuck might make it easier to get it fixed permanently.
Nothing has moved for me either, so my six upgrades are languishing. All the time and effort of finding quality nominations and Wayfaring for upgrades wasted.
Yesterday was the fourth large in-game event where having approved Wayspots would have dramatically improved my community's QoL and people are leaving the game's community and playing elsewhere now. This Upgrade nonsense and the lack of being forthcoming about the problem and fix has had real-world and direct implications for other Niantic products.
Instead of elaborating and clarifying whether or not old upgraded nominations that suffered from this problem would see the light of day, or whether or not this fix would implement a "first in, last out" approach they kept a suspicious silence about it, just as they did for the weeks it took to acknowledge it and the weeks they said it was "being worked on" when it was likely caused by the challenge. Now people are leaving Wayfarer and making the problem of queue sorting even worse.
There must be some compensation and incentive for people who have been impacted by this. It's been a month and a half.
The only reason I think something might be different is that prior to their "fix" I had only seen 6 nominations in my city (a top 20 American city, and one of the most populous metropolitan regions in the US) and since the fix I have seen an additional two! That raises my % of local reviews from 0.0017 to 0.0019! (Actually accurate)
However, nominations I have voted on which were worthy of 4 or 5 stars haven't made it into the game so it seems others aren't voting on them or don't understand Wayspot criteria, and I go back to reviewing hiking trail markers for eternity.
I upgraded two submissions about the time the Wayfarer Challenge started and they still have not entered voting. One was a nomination I had just submitted and likely upgraded it that day or the next, but the other submission I upgraded I had submitted a few weeks prior to upgrading it.
What about your bs acceptance rate? How you say this Rejection reason: Nomination does not appear to be permanent or appears to be a seasonal display that is only put up during certain times of the year, Nomination does not meet acceptance criteria.
when it’s a permanent fireplace built outta stone. The fireplace will be standing longer then Pokémon Go that’s forsure. Sorry I’m not in Asia but do your job and accept the real ****. Look at the pictures and tell me how that’s a temporary or seasonal fireplace?
I sympathize a lot with this. I had a garden in a park denied for being a private residence recently and it's enormously disappointing to waste upgrades that get poorly reviewed. However, this is not the correct thread for that.
It's worth sharing your nomination in the Nomination Improvement forum to see if anything might have been amiss with your submission.
Was in contact earlier with one of our esteemed Community Ambassadors -- they assured me that the Community Ambassadors are aware that the 'fix' does not seem to be fixing anything, and they are aggregating as much information as possible on the situation and ensured me they'll be in contact with Niantic on Monday.
About to be 4 days since the supposed implemented "fix", sadly still nothing happening on my end. All my previous nominations (with upgrades) from 2 months ago are still in voting or in queue.
Iv got 3 upgrades seemingly stuck. 2 were already in voting but not been pushed. Over 4 weeks ago. One slowly entered voting like a normal nom. My husband has 2 stuck also. Iv reduced my reviewing significantly as updates are our 'pay' for the work we do and no we get nothing. Really disappointed. Will we get our upgrades back ??
i was too in using an upgrade recently. this is so disappointing. 2 upgrades essentially wasted, as the upgraded nominations, so far, appear to be moving at nearly the same speed as regular nominations.
what was the goal behind the changes that has broken upgrades?
I don't know if this is the case for everyone but I don't have my upgrades applied by Niantic I have to release an upgrade. When I upgraded my two now stuck nominations that upgrade next option wasn't there and it just said upgrade. I remember there being only 1 option to choose and there are normally 2 (like now).
From what i notice, they are still working on it in the background. Multiple edit that where submitted 16 October last year finally came through. Following by a more recent one.
Also, when things get in voting, the voting time is just hours, max 1,5 days. But getting in voting takes longer than usual. But i suspect that is because of the challenge getting people back to submitting. I notice that locally where, since the start of the challenge way more people are looking around again. Since June the 1th there where 105 new stops in the region triggering multiple new gyms.
So things do change. Things getting through. Maybe my country ( The Netherlands) has a relatively high submitters to reviewers ratio. I don't know.
I'm curious to see what others notice so far. Do you have old stuck edits coming through? And your old upgraded nominations, in what sequence they come through(if at all)? Old to new, new to old, completely random?
@NianticTintino-ING do you have any idea how much work it is to gain 10 upgrades? Awaiting for an update on the issue and how you plan to compensate these wasted upgrades.
Your nominations take only hours while they're in voting? I've had nominations upgraded in voting for weeks. One of my upgrades after this "fix" is in voting and has nothing. Another upgrade from June 10th has not entered voting yet.
I upgraded a nomination from February which has been in voting for 3 months just to see if that would work, and nothing. As others have said, they put a lot of work into earning upgrades and the lack of attention to this issue is damaging the community.
Yesterday I upgraded a nomination that had been in my queue for a while. Immediately went into voting, but usually that would resolve with a decision within 12 hours. It's been 28 so far and still in voting. Will update when/if it goes through, since apparently we're the only people informing each other about progress being made on this issue (or NOT being made, more accurately).
Thank you for your updates. It appears that the fix applied did not work as intended. Our engineering team is actively investigating the issue. I'll be sure to keep you all posted as we know more.
Problems with Upgrades were initially reported in April and reported en masse in early May. We're in the second month of the primary reward for reviews being completely non-functional, and we've only had two serious updates of "We've applied a fix after almost 3wks" and "The fix didn't work" since this was initially posted on May 22nd.
What is Niantic doing to ensure this gets fixed? Will there be any compensation for Wayfarers whose Upgrades didn't go through? I, for example, have wasted 7 Upgrades now being a test experiment for the supposed fix and others have used even more. Many Wayfarers are reporting reducing or ending their reviewing which is exacerbating the problem. What's the plan to come back from this?
I have 19 dating back to the 5th all at Hilton Head Island that were all upgraded and accepted. I have 27 with dates ranging from 5-30 to 6-4 all upgraded in Greenville, SC. 17 of those are in queue and the other 10 are in voting still. I go down to Hilton Head and even without upgrades stuff is accepted within a couple days whereas in Greenville since the system change I have stuff dating back to the beginning of September 2022. Around 40 nominations 9+ months old some still in queue. System makes no sense. Use to take 30 days at the most.
Yes. Hours. And not only mine. Had some other tell me the same. Okj, they where slam-dunk stuff. But still, it's odd. Not that I'm complaining about that.
Start thinking how you'll refund those upgrades, because it's a proper waste of time what is happening atm. No sense reviewing when those upgrades can't be used like they've should be used.

Yeah I've stopped reviewing until this bug is fixed
This clearly isn’t fixed and I am so bummed about it.

Even Niantic reviewing your nomination(balloon) isn't guaranteed you won't receive a rejection for faulty reasons.
I resubmitted it after all other with the same theme(but different) got approved. Guess what, the community said yes.
So over 48 hours since upgrade after “fix”. Really starting to look like it’s still broken. If/when it goes through I’ll post again
Something is in working. I had a wayspot edit come through from October last year.
The wayspot had changed location a little after roadworks so I submitted it along with a title update and update to the description.
Something still not working, edits being visible in Wayfarer, like the email states.
I'll check if there is a thread for it or else I'll create it. (Later on the day.)

I had a stuck nomination go through, so optimistically used another upgrade. Nope. Definitely not fixed.
