You must've pressed the "upgrade next" button instead of the "upgrade" button by mistake. "Upgrade next" only works when you have automatic upgrades enabled in your Wayfarer settings. "Upgrade" is for when you have automatic upgrades turned off instead.
You'd need to enable automatic upgrades, let the system apply the upgrade to your "upgrade next" nomination, and then turn automatic upgrades back off and be careful in future about which button you're pressing.
Is this bug back for anyone else? I upgraded something two days ago that was nominated 5 days ago. It's still In Queue. Usually anything I upgrade older than 3 days will go into voting pretty much right away.
I'm having this as well. Upgraded nominations on Tuesday and they still aren't in voting. Was time-sensitive and got missed. Seems like every time I make a nomination and want it within a reasonable timeframe it becomes stuck. Very frustrating.
I've heard that there was a cooldown period ahead of time to make sure that people have time to edit/correct anything, but I'm also sitting on several days before voting and it's annoying.
Wish we had an update on getting Upgrades compensated for that monthlong fiasco.

I decided that an easy accept that was rejected even with a "clarification" screenshot in supporting might actually stand a better chance with an upgrade, but now it's stuck in queue 🙄
In fact, all of my recent submissions seem to be stuck in queue, considering I have none in voting and usually that would seem to get at least a couple pulled into voting right away 🤷♀️

I started this thread after receiving reply to my request through help for replacements stating:
"The bug that you are talked about is now fixed. We are unable to compensate you for this in order to be fair to other Explorers impacted by it. Please keep an eye on the Wayfarer community for any news related to it."
So this gives me hope that Niantic is considering doing something to compensate us but needs to hear from more Explorers. Any compensation would be appreciated as we worked for them to earn these upgrades.

Your Upgraded nomination was not from one of the countries of the challenge
which was upgraded between May 23, 2023 and June 10, 2023, OR
which was an upgraded nomination prior to the period but resolved during the challenge or May 23, 2023 to June 10, 2023
The resolution time of the upgrade was >2 days (the time between when it was upgraded to resolve)
These Upgrades will begin being reimbursed as soon as today and will continue being reimbursed to your Wayfarer profiles in batches on a weekly basis until they’re all delivered.
In weekly batches? How long will this take? I havent received any yet. Will we be informed when you have finished rolling out? At one point I had at least 6 upgraded subs sat in queue at the same time so I would expect to be one of the people reimbursed.
I have identified 8 submissions which I believe meet these criteria. In England (not challenge location), Upgraded between 23/5 and 10/6, took 3+ days to resolve. Without the third party tracking add-on this would be impossible to find though, I suspect many people are unable to check how many qualifying submission they have.
Can I get a confirmation as to whether I will be reimbursed @NianticTintino-ING ? I applied an upgrade on my nomination shortly after your comment on June 16th saying the fix had been applied, and my nomination is still unresolved a month later on.
Why are only upgrades applied before the 10th June reimbursed? The issue was ony fixed on the 16th? And many people could have used upgrades during this period because Niantic incorrectly announced that it was fixed.
This is an important question. I applied two upgrades on June 10th which did not work, because the alleged fix was not properly implemented. I worked closely with one of the Community Ambassadors via the Wayfarer Discussion Discord to aggregate some of my submissions which had not entered queue, and documented two that I upgraded after the 'fix' that did not go through due to the 'fix' not being a fix.
It would be nice if the 'guinea ****' upgrades got refunded as well! 😄
EDIT: Niantic, you really need to work on your forums' censorship settings. It's certainly fine to avoid foul language, but if a common and inoffensive barnyard animal (not a donkey) is censored, then you're likely going overboard. It makes it very difficult to reference the South American domesticated rodent Cavia porcellus as a generic epithet for test subject.
I'm presuming that they are rolling out on a weekly basis because if they reimburse loads of upgrades and everybody uses them at once it could break the queue, so they want to stagger it. I don't know how many they are reimbursing, hundreds, thousands? Many people have reported receiving one upgrade. Does everybody who is eligible receive one upgrade per week. Or have some people on the list not received any yet? Some more clarity would be appreciated. As I mentioned I havent received any although I can identify 8 which meet the criteria above. I don't want to wait weeks to find out I wasn't even on the list. Can there be a confirmation email to say how many people are due?

Nevermind. Just took 3 days to enter voting, but got resolved within a day once it did.

Also issue here with nominations being slow to go into voting. Nominated 4,5 days says ago, upgraded quickly, still in queue.
Went to voting after 5 whole days. And I have another one waiting from the 1st still in queue.
So looks like minimum time to go into voting in Copenhagen area is now 5 days - even with an upgrade.

I haven't received mine either. I believe there are 3 upgrades to be reimbursed if I'm reading it correctly. I hope I receive them next week.

No, I received nothing. I just saw my available upgrades go from 0 to 3 in profile view.
