Is this a good place for reporting dumb poi (street lightning poles, hydrants signs...) Because i once wrote here a few addresses and they are still a bunch of them in the regions i said or is there another way??
And there are similar low-quality wayspots all over the world.
I wish that such things will be cleaned up and good quality wayspots will remain in the field.
Also, the lack of wayspots in rural and regional areas is not a disparity.
I think you know the essence of this, but the difference in history and cultural accumulation between urban and rural areas is the difference in wayspot density.
And that is not a problem to be solved by wayfarer.
It is a story that will be solved in the future as people accumulate history and culture in the real world.
And in the short term, it is a problem that each game should solve with their systems.
For example, if rare items and monsters are more likely to appear in a region with lower wayspot density, then the density difference is an advantage, not a disadvantage.
People will then go to rural areas for rare items and monsters, rather than to cities where they have an advantage in play.
And then, people will go out to experience the difference in the real world.
That is Niantic's Mission.
And the Wayfarer team needs to remember that mission.
"Gebods bordje voor honden" - One of many "dogs not allowed" signs
51.81174,4.712939 :
"Iroko" - Street name sign
51.810572,4.71141 :
"Iroko sign" - Another street name sign
51.810174,4.713107 :
"Street sign" - Yet another street sign
51.809656,4.713098 :
"Streetsign" - A street sign, I think
51.810267,4.712228 :
"Brievenbus iroko" - a mailbox
51.806138,4.707178 :
"Send your post" - another mailbox
51.808052,4.705864 :
"Het paardenkopje" - small ornament on someone's front gate
51.807312,4.704958 :
"De kaboutermolenaars" - garden gnomes in... someone's garden (house number 21 to be precise).
51.810586,4.712759 :
"Chinese bed" - someone's bed actually. Tricky to scan at night without waking 'em up.
51.806767,4.706939 :
"Speeltuin voor de kleintjes" - these are merely cheap toys that'll disappear when the kids outgrow them (or winter comes). Debatable, but a 'temporary/seasonal' would have been the right vote imho. I'll check up on this if not removed.
51.805125,4.709591 :
"Vlaggenmast" - a flag pole in front of an apartment building
51.800289,4.734852 :
"Mini Bieb Mina" - PRP, but also looks quite temporary
Several "Playing fields" (random pieces of grass next to sidewalks, wherever they wanted their "stop")
51.811061,4.709213 "Speelveld iroko"
51.81143,4.71241 "Speel veld"
51.811718,4.713392 "Grass playing field"
51.81114,4.713327 "Speelveld"
51.808016,4.709902 "Speelveld colorado"
51.806854,4.709418 "Speelveldje toekanpad"
51.806055,4.708676 "Speelveld flamingopad"
Bonus:
51.81004,4.714307 and 51.80992,4.713581 are duplicates of 51.809965,4.713868 : They all have the same title: "Metal sculpture"
Note: the duplicates and PRP Wayspots will be reported in-app (followed by the inevitable forum appeals), due process. I've listed some of them here to illustrate that reviewers are still accepting nearly everything in the Netherlands.
The voting bot ring seems to be offline or less active. The problem is that all the nominations the voting ring accepted are still in the game that aren't posted in this forum or reported by local members.
Some reported nominations in this forum are still active while being coal.
So, finding these nominations and getting them deleted from in-game data is another issue.
@NianticAaron is niantic themselves going to track all the nomination being accepted in the time frame the bot were active? Or are some spots in the benelux extra lucky if nobody reports them?
I did notice in another city area (which has been cleaned up nicely by Niantic) that all traffic barriers have remained, as have some mailboxes. I hope this thread is still being monitored.
Why is "Gebods bordje voor honden" not eligible? There have been lots of such waypoints long before the bots became active. It may not be a 5*, but 4*, 3* and 2* waypoints are eligible too.
Please only report real coal, not anything 'grey area'.
Because it does not fit any of the acceptance criteria. It's not a good place to Explore, Socialise or Excercise. Those waypoints should have never been accepted.
That's your opinion. In my opinion it's a kind of trailmarker for people who take a walk with their dog (exercise!). And since these kind of waypoints were generally accepted, it seems most reviewers think the same way.
The fact that we have different opinions on this just shows that this is a 'grey area' submission.
In this thread we're suposed to report stuff that is clearly 'coal'. Everybody agrees about things like streetlights, wastebins, etc. It's disrespectful to other reviewers to push your own point of view here. Otherwise, where does it end? Some reviewers dont like mosaic tiles, some don't like footbridges, some don't like playgrounds, some don't like restaurants, etc.
This is one from Belgium, hope it is OK to add. Just saw this during review so not all are in game at the moment but it looks like somebody is adding spots hoping to one day have a gym at home?
This was the nomination.
The extra photo
I see a fence, cabels ( Electricity, train, subway or something like that?).
The location on the submission:
Strange the sign is not on the street anymore? And two more interesting spots nearby. Possible of course, checking what it is:
These two don't seem to look close together based on the pictures.. the first seems to be in the bushes. But with the second one there are no bushes. The second one also seems to be on private property. And also interesting, no cables in the view.
The maps view
Streetview is 3 months old. A lot can change ofcourse. But I don't think the complete area changed. I mean removing traintracks an putting farmland on it? both ways is impossible.
I searched the spot from the photo and managed to find it in maps. With the blue F14 on the street.
51.456822, 4.453571
It is in the same city (8 min walk says maps) but with the other two spots it is just too strange.
Since the two statues are very close together only one is a portal in Ingress
Despite Niantic clearly having said bug/bat/bird houses are not eligible without anything special about them, they are always accepted in the Netherlands. As bats are a protected species in this country, the less people there are around them, the better.
Allright, this one could be seen as an equivalent of a traffic sign. But beware there are other such markers with the same shape and color, but with different text. For example "Losloopzone". A special area, often fenced, where dogs can walk freely without a leash. A totally different situation.
There are lots of them. Many predate OPR/Wayfarer. And, like I said, many get accepted by (human) reviewers nowadays.
@YllwLdbttr-PGO Note that I did not include the 'allowed' counterpart in my recent summarization of coal nominations despite what I personally think of even those.
I don't think these poles 'predate OPR', because before OPR (and before the community was allowed to be involved) POI's were taken from the Historical Marker Database, and I doubt that these street signs are historically relevant to be included in the HMDB. Besides that: what is already online doesn't automatically clear it from being low quality, as has been noted already in this thread.
Answers
I reported a portal called "het groene poppetje" like this one on the photo.
Niantic declined. Lol. Are you serious Nia.
Compilation of junk in the area.

It's a great choice.
I agree and support it.

Someone really did a number on this area:
51.811189,4.710706 :
"Street sign iroko" - sign with house numbers
51.810994,4.710589 :
"Gebods bordje voor honden" - One of many "dogs not allowed" signs
51.81174,4.712939 :
"Iroko" - Street name sign
51.810572,4.71141 :
"Iroko sign" - Another street name sign
51.810174,4.713107 :
"Street sign" - Yet another street sign
51.809656,4.713098 :
"Streetsign" - A street sign, I think
51.810267,4.712228 :
"Brievenbus iroko" - a mailbox
51.806138,4.707178 :

@YllwLdbttr-PGO
just to clarify you are talking about
A simple dogs not allowed sign.
This is not any kind of trail marker and is not somewhere great to exercise, socialise or explore.
Although a lot of wayfarer involves interpretation there is no grey area here and it needs to be removed.
if you are voting to accept such proposals then it sounds as though you may need some education.
