They could have had a little marker or beacon on the stop and a translucent path for 50 metres in the direction the route goes from the end/start point which you can set to on or off.
This is in a feature that was available to only 10% of the players many of whom were seeing only bugs and crashes after a baffling 'beta test'.
How about sharing your catch card of a route spawn on Campfire and mentioning there's a route nearby? I haven't tried this myself so idk if this works, but I think it's worth trying if there's no other way to let people know.
LeedsMaggers-PGO Join us here for Routes discussions. Interesting to see your reviewing nominations to boost your profiles for route acceptance. Why did you think that was a thing? Did not cross my mind. But something to think about
@tomwe-PGO Marlborough was my hood back in the day. Tell the Melksham team to make a couple. That is what I did. So I have routes accepted and not. But every area I nominated in has at least one route.....
The system is crazy on rejecting, accepting and in review. But I think it is crazy as we don't know how it works. So a level of frustration for us all.
It's frustrating I have routes months old still pending review, but players a certain level can go out and do a route and get it auto approved immediately? A member of my community did just that, theirs is nearly identical to one I made months ago still in review. XD
No auto accept here -one from mid-july still under review, as are recent ones. I did have a couple of July ones passed earlier this month and one rejected (probably because a 14th Century building was an Inn).
Two through were short (600m+) and in a park. Both accepted within an hour. Though one was in a park boardering the coast. But it started at sea went inland and ended at surf club.
One in review was in a park but one k long. Between two ponds and alongside one. Mulitple POIs
One in review was coast walk at 2.5k long. Multiple POIs including heritage with stop and start at heritage
Am checking behind the filing cabinets incase it is me dropping them :-)
I've had a strange one where a route I submitted was makred as approved that same day, in fact it was there for me to follow as soon as I done it. It wasn't showing ad published until today when I walked along it, but then when I did and gave it a rating it said "published" on the same date I submitted it
And yet the 3rd route I submitted is still waiting on review
Mines was still showing as in queue up until I walked it, then it just auto accepted lol I might just redo the walk that's waiting for review again on the off chance I can walk it back and auto accept it 🤣🤣 its a walk I do damn near every weekend as its a nice flat walk but goes past 3 bits with good amount of waypoints, so I was hoping it would have e been accepted by now lol
Oh, other weird thibg happened. I got a zygarde cell showing up on a route I did, but it didn't spawn on the part of the route I was at, but rather on a part of rhe route I'd already went along (this route doubles back on itself), was weird and means if cells spawn on the routes after you've been past the point, it's not very good
Oh, sorry I misunderstood, by auto accept I mean within seconds, insta-accepted might be a more apt phrase.
Was it just coincidence that it was accepted at that point or was it available to walk immediately after you pressed submit but showing still in review?
It was there to be immediately followed as soon as I submitted it (Saturday afternoon) but only for me, not for my partner who was with me. It was the sitting in "awaiting review" until I walked the path myself, then as soon as I did it on minday evening, went into published, but said published date was on the Saturday afternoon
I haven't had any crashes with AS on and running 0.279.3 if that helps.
I have lost the will to live on TSR. I only wanted to inform people that when you near the end of creating a 20km it's possible you lose the whole route you are creating.
I was joking :-) @TrainerHobo-PGO my sarcasm to @The26thDoctor-PGO comment on dropping the criteria down. I think they need more in review as a lot of people have made a lot of noise about not having routes near by. So they need to get more in market,
If, IF, that is the case then it underline the bad product management on the project. I certainly would have released as beta first with no Z dog. And just an award for the participants similar to that functionality. Then I would have fine tuned it to the point I could release it appropriately still without the Z dog - as my goal would be to get routes created for people to play on. I would also have released a nearby maps that allows you to look for them. As not everywhere will have routes near by. Once enough routes then release the z dog.
Here they have mangled the release cycle steps :-(
Not to say I have not enjoyed it. I have. This has been a good discovery process for me as well.
As assumes that you actually use Google Maps/Location. I run the S21 in basic mode with zero google accounts. I can in PGO turn on AS and Fitness Tracker and it WILL crash the app. The app thinks they exist. Is trying to do some funny shiiite and as an epic EOL spiral (EOL = End of Life)
So consistently. Turn AS off and the app works but cannot create routes. I want 0.277.1 back where I don't need AS to create routes. I fear I will be the lone voice :-) I saw zero uplift in AS creating any quality in route creation or following routes. So I can only assume it is for some other reason - Potentially the hell they had in built up cities. 'cause out in the open of suburbia and rural space no probs.
So I will only do creation on one device. The others remain clean of google.
Just created a new route. Park. Road. POIs, Gyms. 670 m. Was expecting auto accept in like wahoo time.
But still sitting there after 6 hours. Now your all saying only 6 hours. "Take it on the chin buddy". I hear you. I am intrigued as my last two short routes in parks seemed to be accepted inside the hour.
This path cuts across three roads. ...... And as I was walking it took an inside path through houses not along the footpath.
I think trying to understand how this system will just make spaghetti of the mind 😃
hello, in my local area, we still don't have any roads, and here, I have the possibility of proposing some, but they are still awaiting examination. I guess I have to wait a long time.

.... Maybe that's wishful thinking.

Some seem stuck, dropped down the back of a virtual filing cabinet no doubt.
At least it warns you, I guess that's something.
Surely early access has been great. Surely you can get AI approved routes just like everyone else.
After the reset I have one went through as an auto accept and 8 into review.
Has it been similar for everyone else once you could submit again?

I’ve done 4- 2 quick/AI accept 2 in review.
Two through and two in review.

Thanks. Seems to be a pretty mixed bag of staying in review and being published.
I'll stick to creating 20km routes for Go players to enjoy.... until we get more actual info :)

I had similar with an auto accept. It was showing on the nearby seconds later but still showing as in review until I restarted the game.

That's odd behaviour.
From the game not you :)
It looks like the minimum level to submit is being lowered to 45.
More in queue I guess:/
Clearly they are processing them fast enough
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
They forced me to update from 0.277.1 on the S9 via Galaxy Store..... Now I have to use Activity Suk to create a route.. PANTS
It worked JUST fine thank you very much Niantic. There was ZERO itch that needed scratching :-(
Until I see ones from 6/21 getting processed through or archived, they're obviously not.
I haven't had any crashes with AS on and running 0.279.3 if that helps.

I may jump in the river :/
That's obviously a joke :)

It would be a really great joke if the route were then accepted with that as your "end point" 😵

this route goes through a path
