They may speed up after Go Fest and the new season.
If it ever comes out of review... I'll get the badge at least :/
It seems like there will be an abundance of routes relatively quickly. I definitely don't need any more for actual gameplay so I'll maybe only do 15 - 20km routes from now or if I find somewhere with none at all I'll make one.
If only the routes team would communicate then we might be able to give them less to review, 🙄
I think a mix of different kinds of routes would be a good goal.
Ones in areas where people routinely walk of varying lengths to create a network of choice would work well to let people adapt doing routes to the conditions and time they had available. These are more about getting people active and perhaps showing them different ways of going from A to B.
Others that are longer or aim to take people along less used paths to new places etc have a more explore element and a more active challenge.
There needs to be of drawing attention to the fact there are routes. One that I recently created I suspect has not had widespread attention yet. It is in an urban area, but starts at a gym that is slightly away from the denser Pokémon Go activity. So it seems to have a very low turnover. There were no routes, but I made this a starting point. If actively used I would have expected to see more gym activity but sadly no. My guess is that it is undiscovered.
I would really like to be able to see when looking for a route a much better map that shows not just one route at a time but the network. Then I could see how I could weave my way around an area - especially important if I am going somewhere new.
Well if they could just communicate would be a start @Elijustrying-ING as that has a very strong chance of better quality submissions and less to review. Agreed
I made paths of the routes I'd created using the IITC draw tool, it didn't help with how they are reviewed, how many are allowed/queued in a certain area etc.
It was fun to see them all on a zoomed out map though. That would be a nice feature... In 4 years maybe :)
I had no idea there was an exploit that was so powerful in getting candy. Woa... Sounds like someone was using tools to enable it. Unfair on everyone else. But - there is a level of smartness there. Who takes the time to work this stuff out? Sorry not in my mind set ;-)
@PkmnTrainerJ-ING So how many do you have in Review? As I said I only have 4. I cannot work out why. I have decided to let the month tick over and see if they move before I create another. If they don't move I will create one route on exactly the same path as one of them. But change image and text. See if that works......
@The26thDoctor-PGO If I was so inclined and my area had enough POIs I was thinking of doing a few routes as letters to create a word.... Hmmmmmm
10 under review. 3 accepted. 4 rejected (one was under 500m before that was applied as a minimum, the other 3 are park loops/walks near the park so not sure why they got a no)
Apart from one which was published then deleted. This might explain why some are being rejected as inaccessible area I think is a reason to choose when reporting. There was no inaccessible area on the route.
I wouldn't be surprised if someone couldn't do the route because its buggy thought that it was not accessible......and chose to report as inaccessible.
Going through my list of rejections I have an inaccessible one that is not unreasonable. I was having great difficulty with the signal and trying to pause etc and it ended up in a right muddle inside shops so yes inaccessible seems reasonable.
I've tried to take mine to Niantic Support, but their extremely unhelpful and obstructive chat bot makes it literally impossible to log it as an issue.
I've raised a bug report as it's thr only thing I could do and the auto response is that they probably won't get back to you, so basically there is zero support.
I am able to create new ones, but I'm not going to bother as it seems like a potential waste of time if there's a chance they'll just get stuck like the rest.
Glad to hear the rejection criteria do not make sense ;-) I think you summed it up @Elijustrying-ING Of all of my rejections one did not seem unreasonable. That was reassuring :-)
The lack of guidelines does not help. I note when you create a route these were the only guidelines that seem to exist.
0.5K to 20K
Be in a safe area and not go through private property
Have a clear description and theme
So I assume these are the detailed guidelines you mention @The26thDoctor-PGO Ma ha hahahahahah I now go.....
And in the FAQs it says you can report a route that breaks the generic guidelines and terms of use. So I guess the best we can do is stitch POI rejection, acceptance critera, the above three points and understand the generic guidelines, the terms of use and then if you do stick 100% to the system - the most important item comes to the fore - you hope.
@oODarkburnOo-PGO4pivo-PGOCNachtwolf-PGO join us in this thread for conversations on routes. All other threads and forums in around here are for Wayfarer issues.
Regarding the time it takes for items to be reviewed. No one knows. Some get accepted very very quickly. Some sit in review for ever. Some get published, you can walk and then get rejected.
The general consensus is wait and most routes get accepted. you can create 10 every 30 days (that number will include those that your create in those 30 days that go into review and or rejected so a total of 10 irrespective of status it goes into ).
It is clear the product is still being finessed and is really still early production release as parts are still being built. So frustrating for some as they need to build stuff, while fixing stuff and have a host of routes to manage. That are already being gamed/abused.
So busy people at PGO I suspect
I have 4 in review. Two rejected for what appears no apparent reason and one of those was publised for a month and had been walked. So who knows But yeah share your experiences here.
For direct PGO Route comms - use the support functions and dedicated PGO forums.
I know mine was definitely not inaccessible. Kings X to Euston - Walk out of Kings X, 15 minutes up Euston Road, walk into Euston.
I can only take someone else's word that theirs was fine too and was met with nonsensical rejection reasons that can't be deciphered it improved upon due to lack of communication....
Hello everyone, I put a post on wayfarer and they redirected me here, I didn't know where to complain about what happens to most of us, they accept the routes and then they are rejected.
I have several suggestions in this regard if it is the community that is reporting routes and it is the reason why they are rejected and not because of Niantic's error.
1. I think that the button to reject the route is too exposed, it is close to the button to reverse the route and it can even continue to be reported in the menu of the already rejected route. It would put it at the end of the route menu when it is selected to perform and not where it is now.
2. The routes should not be reported by all players, I would put a level criteria or certain routes made so that they can be reported, or another system so that only players with criteria can report them.
Well I had a near straight line. Walk out of Martin Place Station, Walk up to Wynard Station. 15 minute tops walk. 600m. The other was my coast walk. I note someone has created two walks along my rejected walk - so they started at same place - stopped half way and then created a new walk ending at same place. Combined same same as my 2.1K walk but theirs accepted. Soooooo
3 of my stuck-in-review routes from June 22nd finally got published. 2 of them are duplicates (I submitted twice because it didn't show up in the list for a while) and they are less than 500m. It's strange they didn't get rejected😲
I also got some of my early submissions between 6/21 and 6/24 published. Two routes are less than 500 meters and one more is a duplicate. Curious to see how long they stay in the game.

Still waiting for any to be accepted beyond my initial three.
Seems the AI hasn’t liked any of mine enough so far so it’s just added to someone’s ever growing in-pile.
I guess routes have been useful for some at least.
I thought the the most amusing response was this
Stages of reacting to this:

I would guess probably not a -230 day ban. I would wait to see how they deal with it when someone else tries it, and someone will.
The only new thing with routes is people locally bragging about car driven routes.

A couple of updates in 0.281
Start and end point show up
You can delete rejected routes. They all say this
Apart from one which was published then deleted. This might explain why some are being rejected as inaccessible area I think is a reason to choose when reporting. There was no inaccessible area on the route.
My rejects all say the same as your second image. Would love to know where to read these requirements or guidelines.
I'm sure there is a very detailed guide somewhere...
Ignore the end point named Victorian Police Box. Edinburgh boxes were installed in 1933... I submitted a title edit ages ago :D

I posted on TSR and someone else had a published then rejected with dangerous and unsafe on a trail in a park.
I have a feeling they are not even looking at the rejected routes to verify.
We may never know 🤷♀️

We'll figure it out :D
I know the feeling. I gave up trying in 2017.
Don't have 0.299.1 yet

Just went from 18 in review to 11 with all 7 being published.
All my old ones have the little dot on them too which means I have to click every one to get rid of the dot :D
But that's a minor inconvenience.
Just waiting to see if they will accept any lunatic ravings as a description now.
