I think it would be pretty difficult to accidentally press report, then choose a reason then press submit. If someone going to report they'll probably find a way.
@oODarkburnOo-PGO none of us, to date, have yet worked out how the Routes get processed, reviewed or rejected. Or even how reporting works.
We know they talk of guidelines. But there appears to be a stricter application of Wayfarer Guidelines, Terms of Use, the three basic rules of creating a route and all the normal create and review criteria for a POI/Waypoint and somehow all combined in a new system they trying to finish.
How this actually is put together. Zero idea.
We pointed you here as all the other threads are for Wayfarer and Routes is PGO only function. So basically all communication/reporting has to either go via the in app help or via the Pokemon Forums ((Routes — Pokémon Forums (pokemon.com))) Good luck with either.
All i can say is they are still building it, fixing it and now dealing with a host of issues including people gaming the system.
I'm guessing they approved enough routes today that they figured meh that's a lot of the backlog gone, that's reason enough to open up route creation to level 45+? 😂
The routes made by my friend and partner are still in review in the meantime... 550m, 5km, 9km and 16km. It's only been 3-4 weeks though, not complaining yet.
Meanwhile, some perfectly fine routes have been removed around here, even though the totally dodgy routes remain.
Yeah, that's what I think too. I remember seeing posts last month about people having their routes less than 500m published and then get rejected afterwards.
I'm in Japan and I still have 13 under review. I wish I could delete some of them because they are just duplicates :)
Had a weird bug before where one of the first routes I made got accepted but it also stayed in review, like it had doubled up.
Looks like yesterday the duplicate got accepted so now I have 2 identical routes that both say they were accepted yesterday despite one being active and used for a month already.
If anyone checks local routes it shows twice for them too
Hmmmmm that still does not explain the rejections and the ones in the queue......
One was rejected for being inaccessible. Even thought someone did the same route but split as two routes and they both exist? Post mine getting rejected. As it had been published for a month I can only guess someone nominated it. Will never know? But my follow up route of the same path is sitting in review - so cannot really comment ;-) Hold on I just did 😀
The other was rejected for not meeting our requirements or violates the guidelines. Well really with that link you posted up above I am even more mystified.....
They show up as 2 routes on the nearby but I only noticed the second one got approved a few hours ago so not tried walking it yet..... Although I'm not sure which one I will be choosing each time as they look the same. The only way I'll know is if another badge pops up as the visits/community visits has never worked for any of my routes
It's good that Niantic published an article on route requirements and best practices, it's an interesting read and certainly provides some level of guidance.
Seems like they want routes to be accessible to as many people as possible, maybe I won't make routes for my favourite hiking trails then - suppose routes have different target audience compared to Ingress missions.
Also not sure if I agree with their examples of good titles...
Their example: "Tour of my Favorite Parks"
My example: "Tour of Parks X, Y and Z" or "Tour of <region> Parks"
Their example: "A Quiet Walk Through my City"
My example: "A Quiet Walk Through <named city/town/suburb/landmark>"
Maybe they're just not very good at noting something is a placeholder.
I also thought the example with "you might see me with my dogs!" was a very bizarre thing for them to suggest you put in a description. Especially when it's on the same page as "don't put any personally identifying information."
Haven’t checked in this thread since the beta phase and public launch event. Great experience overall still. A few notes to the coders and debuggers with the newest update impacting my gameplay this evening. iPhone SE2. Refreshed in game data in pogo settings, cleared phone cache, and complete restart.
1) Of the six routes I walked and biked this evening, three were bugged in a way they never had been before. I could select Routes, receive the pop up for Nearby, but it soft-locked me on that screen. A force close of the app was the only way to resolve.
Without any additional action, three were able to be selected and run fine, and then my last attempt soft-locked me again. Newest iOS update.
2) All of my previously beta phase published routes showed a new notification dot on their icon. When selected, it gave me a pop up saying they were published 8/29. They have new permanent published dates after a force close and restart.
3) I can now delete rejected routes. Thanks!
4) My Your Trips counter has never worked, showing zero since originally published on both the Route Badges and Created Routes rows. The Your Trips text is squished and vertical only on the Route Badges row, but text title is fine when selecting a route from the Created Routes row.
5) Hope to be able to start viewing data on number of other people that use the Routes soon.
6) Turn off the auto-end route function when reaching the end of the route. Or let the zygarde cell remain on the overworld map after the route ends. They are still spawning just at or past the end point. Tricks like pausing the route at 70m, walking past the end, force closing and restarting, etc. shouldn’t have to be done to access the reward. There’s got to be a better way to push the zygarde cells out than what is currently being done.
6) thank you again. This is the most actual exercise I’ve done since playing the game, more than any other feature.
You could do both? The whole hiking trail and a shorter version of it.
I think there will be a plethora of shorter routes for most people who want them for gameplay. Personally I'm not going take Niantic's advice on making routes 2km :)

6 Routes published. Now I only have one waiting from June and 4 from August.
I now have 5 Routes that show as Nearby.
@moex55-PGO and @GribbsterK-PGO Interesting
They do have post clean ups. So they may get rejected soonish as they run the AI over it again.
But if they stay let us know :-)
Glad they clearning through. Are you both in the UK.
Am in Aus and mine hit a brick wall again. :-)

WE can all say. Communication is poor. :-)
Did you have any routes that went through?
Has anyone been given an opportunity to fix up a rejection.? Just that the app says you may be given an opportunity.
Just checking the Myth status of this..
Nope. All I can do with my rejections is see why and then choose to delete them

There are now some Requirements and Best Practices listed here
@The26thDoctor-PGO and @Elijustrying-ING and others.

I guess that's sort of helpful Niantic.
Not auto rejections it seems

They show as two separate routes on the nearby and give two separate badges?
Hmmmmm that still does not explain the rejections and the ones in the queue......

Oh well :-) Thanks for sharing the link!
OK. I just looked at my publish dates. A big bunch of my Beta nominations have now all got a 30th August Publish date. Which is weird
???? Anyone else
On 0.281 I've been intermittently getting the bug where the nearby list of routes stays on screen but you can't choose one.
You can interact with stops, catch things etc but the route screen remains on top of the overworld map. Quitting is the only way to fix it for me.
Just upgraded on the A20 Samsung. I have not seen that.Yet
If you choose a route to follow what happens?
I didn't get at first but it started to appear after a few days. It is still sporadic though.
Click nearby, route list comes up but then nothing can be chosen, you can't exit and the list stays on the screen.
It seems like it should be an easy fix and will probably be patched on the next 0.28x maybe...
OK - did your publish dates change for some of your nominations?
Am off to play now before work will see what happens with screen overlay

11 are still showing their original date.
55 are showing 29/08 with only 6 of those being published on that date.
I would definitely get that second badge before it's deleted.
I still have the badge of my Kings X to Euston route that was published then rejected.

Dangerous unsafe area walking around a park and a library?

I am getting the same error now. hmmmm. Only an app restart will do it....
@rufoushumming-PGO i have the same as @The26thDoctor-PGO a pile marked as 29th August publish date and others with original date.
The should have called routes the Magical Mystery Tour 😂😂😂
@AgentX1976-ING not seen a dangerous one yet.

Was that previously published?
If so it may be a combination of someone reporting for that reason and others also giving a low rating when they first complete the route.
Not that it looks like it deserves that but I wouldn't be surprised if some have it a 1* if they didn't get a cell.
They are at least keeping count.
Although I think this should be more at gold?
5 to bronze, 20 to silver, 100 to gold?
It should be at least 125?
Maybe it’ll follow Ingress’ Missions?
100 for Gold, 200 for Platinum?
