I used it today. No issues so far. Walked a wee way. Will try another longer route tomorrow. I like it. I got a fair bit of satisifaction out of creating one
Sorry to hear others having issues. Hope it sorts out. For me, enough intrigue to keep going, easy to use. So
I am however interested in why they want a new product feature/ But I guess that is the product manager in me. Disovery and testing features is fun ;-)
Do you mind saying what or where generally the disappeared ones were?
No worries if not though since Niantic are being predictably vague and uncommunicative when it comes to how the feature works and what we can or can't say...
They said in an article that they want to approve or deny a submission within 24 hours. So far only 1 of my submissions got out of review within that time frame. Curious what's going on with the rest. Backlog? Issues with their moderation process?
I guess we'll find out in time.
Good part is that routes are really easy to create. Only one day where I had to restart my phone to fix the route recording crashing issues.
Oh oops yeah I never got an e-mail and just posted the intro to my youtube channel telling people that I got chosen. I will wait to post another video, although yeah it would have been nice to get the e-mail.
I'm happy to do them if I know how useful they will be for other people and the bugs are fixed.
It may be that Go players will not even use them if for example they have to actively choose to start the route, walk the whole length and actively choose to finish at the end point.
Similar. I have submitted 8 or 9 and one has been published. The rest are under review. But I don't have Ingress so this is all new and I may be doing something incorrectly.
I realize now mine are pretty bare bones. People's descriptions are...well...descriptive. Mine have been basic, thinking that the stops themselves give the descriptions. I submitted a route that has three historical marked houses, titled it "Historic houses" and then description was something like "Explore the ____ house, the _____ house, and the _____ house along this route" Adding to the difficulty is I can't pull up the spellings of the long proper names of sites while I'm inside the submission. When I submit pokestops, I'll try to come into this site and proof/change before it goes to voting since the phone submissions are a pain typing out.
my submissions that have been published. ( sometimes within minutes) have some things in common
located in parks
along mapped walking trails
fairly simple straight line or a simple loop that couldn’t be interpreted as me trying to draw any funny shapes
the ones in review - 2 are in parks but a more complicated path, the other is not and is a walking route but may not be marked as such on a map but is pretty much a straight line
1. No reasoning behind this one except maybe a duplicate from another submitter? I split up a long trail into sections where it intersects with major roads since most people do one section when on daily walks. All others were published quite quick. This one section disappeared. 0.8 km long
2. A 8 km bike trail along roads and a few walking/bike paths that are mapped. It wanders a bit but generally north/south Not so happy about the time involved in mapping it - although I was on my bike so wasn’t so bad
3. A short route inside a park that follows a water feature. Doesn’t follow any marked paths. More of an experiment on my part
I've been having the same issue. I reinstalled the game and restarted my phone a few times. Unfortunately the app crashes every time I start or unpause a new route.
When people are saying their routes have been published, may I ask where exactly they confirm this information? I ask since I have submitted 3 routes, and on my trainer page, the 2 most recent (the only ones that appear on that page) are labeled as "Under Review," but if I click through to the "Creator" page, all 3 are labeled as "Published."
Do we have any update on when routes will be live? I have 2/3 "published" right now, but it would help a lot in determining the best use and format for route creation by first testing it out and knowing how it will actually function. I am also curious how we can report bugs, as there seems no direct reporting ATM. I get that testing out route creation and getting some routes prepped and established for launch will help, but I'm sure Wayfarers have very valuable feedback, which we would like to submit.
My bf made a 3 mile route today that was approved in minutes and his other one was too. Both of mine (in park areas/college campus) are both still under review. I’m wondering if this is going to be like when appeals came out and the first ones just sit there forever.
Edit: His two routes were on the same college campus so it’s not that.
1 Kilometer is definitely too much of a constraint. We have fitness and walking trails that are longer than 1km and it seems weird to try and break them up into separate sections. I get not wanting to basically have a 5mi hike, but 1km isn't even a mile.
I'd love more detail about whether its preferable for us to create multiple short routes, fewer longer routes, or a combination of both short and long routes with some potentially overlapping (for example, a single route for an entire trail and then several shorter routes linking the various trail markers along that same trail.)
I feel the urge to head out into some nature reserves and spend some serious time recording more routes along trails, but I don't want to sink hours into the process only to have my time and effort go to waste because I've done the wrong thing.

I had 2 of mine randomly rejected... were they rejected by Niantic, did their auto filter flag them for some reason, who knows.
I don't, that's for sure...
The two of mine that disappeared completely just showed up as rejected, but both of them show up twice in my profile. It's weird
Mine are just gone. Were yours in possibly sensitive locations?
Some of mine were here
Which would be weird to auto reject as there are more American tourists in them than dead people.
Do you mind saying what or where generally the disappeared ones were?

Also 15 routes submitted
5 on 6/21
4 on 6/22
2 on 6/23
4 on 6/24
14 in review and 1 published (submitted 6/24)

Actually, it is not fun to be one of the chosen trainers.
The route-creating dosn´t work.
I`ve been walking about 3 km after logging in a starting-point.
The game didn`t register the walked distnace, so that a could not save the route.
Also all Items on the right side of the screen vanished, so that i wasn`t able to use any incence or eggs.
Please fix theses porblems, Niantic
Oh oops yeah I never got an e-mail and just posted the intro to my youtube channel telling people that I got chosen. I will wait to post another video, although yeah it would have been nice to get the e-mail.
the problem with the crashes is that they turn up randomly. even tested it on different devices.
Niantic needs to fix this before i will do any more testing.

I think you are fine. I'm 3 published and 9 in review.

I've been doing them the same way Is nominate.
Type the title and description before in Keep Notes then just copy and paste into the submission when I'm doing it.
I'm not even sure what they are looking for tbh, they might want shorter less descriptive text.
I’ve done two and my bf has done one. Both still in review. I’m bummed to be honest.

Thanks, I guess we can't tell until they fix it or say nothing about it for 2 years leaving everyone in the dark.
isnt it that Niantic said somewhere that a part will be auto-accepted by the "AI"?

My trainer page shows two in review when I click list I have 3 published and 9 in review that includes the two on my trainer page
That's what they said. I submitted a route and got published within 2 minutes. Has to be the AI part in their process.
I’m wondering if the difference between those having app crashes and those who aren’t are android vs iPhone, a version problem or older phones
iphone 11 Pokémon go version 0.273.3 A- 64 No real issues
S20 Android 13
