Exactly this. I’m trying to make my routes what people would naturally walk. So breaking up something longer if it makes sense. Ie there is a choice at a point or a place to join a trail etc.
Created 2 on the 22nd and they are stil under review.
I don't want to waste time creating more until I see if they come back accepted or not & see some potential guidance on what is actually wanted by Niantic.

It went into review after disappearing two previous time. I haven't got a clue if it was removing the beheading and gory bits that made a difference.
it is now 7:30 AM on Monday where the Niantic offices are - hopefully that means someone may actually respond to some of our concerns or move things out of review that have been stuck there sometime over the next 10 hours
Had my first Route published only a couple of hours before submitting it for review. Waiting on two more now. All three involve walks through historic areas with multiple landmarks, so I assume the remaining two will be accepted too.
Now gone from the review list, so I'm assuming that means rejected and the two other times were instant rejects.
If something like that is being rejected I'll give the feature a miss until I know what it does, what they want, that it functions properly and how much players will even use it.
I made one route the first day, June 21, 2023. The first time I tried to submit it, it just spun without doing anything, even when I got home on wifi. Finally restarted my game from home, and was able to submit that time. Still under review on the 26th. Not impressed so far.
hope that’s not rejected. It sounds like a great route that I would love to try if I ever travel to your area So much more interesting sounding than the park trail routes that I’ve had published.
0.275.0 update for Go now shows the Greyfriars Kirk as all rejected.
It was showing that I'd made13 submissions in total but the update now shows as 19 with six copies of Greyfriars rejected. I attempted it three times...
I just updated. All my rejections are doubled as well.
nice to know that they were rejected. Instead of just being in limbo. But would like to know why. One of them I resubmitted earlier today and was almost immediately published. 🤷♀️
That's interesting. My first route (which was accepted) shows that it is only 382 meters. It's an "out-and-back" trail, so I could have doubled the length by recording the route for the round trip, but then I wouldn't have been able to use the photo I wanted...
Just wondering - I hit the ground running making several submissions when the feature was brand new, but I haven't followed through. Some of that is busy schedule/health issues, but mostly it's a lack of ROI. With three accepted and one still in review, I'd like to see some sort of result - but when I go back to the start point for me accepted routes, I see no indication that my route exists. I don't know if there are others out there creating routes and if my efforts are duplicative. There are quite a few active Wayfarer users in my area, so it mght be we're doubling up on efforts. Am I alone in wishing that I could test the USE of these routes along with testing their creation process?
Has anyone figured out how to follow a route? I've submitted 3, one accepted almost immediately and two in review days later, but when I go back to my one accepted route I see no indication that it exists or a way to start following it. I also see no way to find routes made by other people. So, can we just create routes at the moment with no way for people to actually use them?
I submitted another 5 routes on 6/26 and all of these had a desicion within 24 hours (3 accepted and 2 rejected). Makes me wonder about the routes created in the first couple of days that are still in review.
Insta reject for a 0.6 km route that takes you from a 1750's Inn then over a park with a cricket pitch in the middle to an 1820's Inn on the other side of the park :D
I, too, wish we could also test following the routes, as I have some questions--particularly with loop routes--that could influence how I create certain routes.
Specifically, for loop routes that can be followed in either direction, I'm interested to know how the direction is determined. Do players pick a direction explicitly at the start, or does the game attempt to detect which direction they're going? And if the game tries to detect, does this cause issues if the first and last parts of a loop route follow a single path but branch off later?
I'm also wondering if players can take on multiple routes at once, or at least pause one route to take on another. For example, if I have a loop, and there's an optional second loop halfway through the first loop, would I need to create a single larger route for players who want to do both? I suspect I would, but it would be nice to know the answer now before I start.

1km is not the limit. It changes on the screen after you start mapping your route. I have lots of longer routes published

Several applications have disappeared from the review process.
They are not in the announced section either.
Has this been rejected?
And what will it look like when it is published?

well that are my exact thoughts. we didnt hear much from Niantic, and i dont want to run around creating anything more than that what i did.
The App is crashing all the time
We dont know if it is better to have 20 short routes or 1 big Route
We dont know if our created Routes will be there when it starts
We dont know what the rewards will be for walking the Routes.

I think it depends on what they are looking for.
It might not be useful to think of routes with a Wayfarer hat on. They may want parks, short trails etc.
Tried a route from Kings Cross Station to Euston Station.
10 minute walk, stupidly busy. Wrote a relatively short description. Accepted in 30 minutes.

I updated the pogo app today and, for the first time, I did not crash when making a route. I was able to go for a block and pause without incident.
Maybe the new update fixed some route things, or maybe I got lucky.
It definitely did visually.
I just updated. All my rejections are doubled as well.

With the update of the app to 0.275, the total length has gone from 0.5Km to 20Km.

Greetings from PokeMiners:
Will be interesting to see what will happen to the 5 routes I have published that are under 500 m

I hope they communicate clearly what they want and how to achieve it when it goes live.
The vast majority of Go players I know are disinterested in Wayfarer because of its confusing process.
I have the exact same issue.
So I'm stuck in this step.
I'm going to try one around the periphery of a church.
It's 1700's and has a war memorial and large nature reserve surrounding it, so I can do a route around the edge without going through the cemetery.
If anyone else has any available try similar if you are bored :) Around, through if it's a more relaxed, open cemetery.
I have two of mine rejected. However, when I click on the rejected routes it does show published on top. How about yours?
