Upgrade Shows no Effect?

Hello everyone

I upgraded a Wayspot three days ago and it says that it still sits in the queue. When I upgraded other wayspots they usually got accepted/declined within one or two days but in this case it seems that the upgrade may have not worked... Has something like this had happened to one of you too?

    Right. Your first upgrade was still in that initial In Queue window (around 2 days) after nominating. Our user observations say that upgrading that soon after nominating will roughly double its required In Queue window. Maybe triple. Then it'll go In Voting. Your second upgrade was outside that initial window, so the upgrade moved it on into Voting pretty quickly.

    It's counter-intuitive, stupid, and Niantic hasn't said anything about it. But nominators in many various locations have observed it for several months.

    Was there a time gap of a few days between submitting the nomination and applying the upgrade?

    There is a short but random period of time after submission before the wayspot can enter voting even if upgraded.

    I submitted two wayspots on the same day (three days ago).

    The first wayspot (that I mentioned now) was upgraded the same day that I submitted it but did not go into the voting till now. The second wayspot was upgraded on the next day but went into voting just some hours later. I found it funny that the wayspot that I upgraded first still was not in the voting when the second one was... Haha


    Update: The Wayspot just went into voting, four days after the upgrade was applied.
