Actually they've spent real money to buy GO Fest ticket. Well, is it possible for suspended accounts to ask in-game support to refund because of this?

Back to the topic, I'd say that if this whole menace of bot reviews in NL didn't happen then these poor accounts won't suffer like this. Those coal nominations would just be rejected by normal/human reviewers but accepted by the bots instead. But then Niantic couldn't differ which Wayspots are submitted by this abuse ring and which are not, and so everyone submitted coal nominations got sanctioned as well even though they're not the part of this abuse.

To repeat what someone has said here before to players from affected area: stop Wayfaring.

Niantic is not handling this right. People who don’t abuse are getting caught up in this mess and getting banned.

While the bots are still freely running around, Niantic just targets nominators now, who seen low quality wayspots in the game, thinking they are somehow eligible as they mass appeared around them.

Voting for low-quality Wayspots contradicts the test that everyone had to pass.

@NianticAaron Thoughts on the words of the people involved?

I've seen you booted up your third account?

What "they" did (It weren't 2 brothers but one guy) was knowingly break the rules. The serial numbers on streetlights were in no way anything close to trailmarkers.

Let alone place them in a way to optimise POI's in Pokémon Go.

    Hey there,

It takes some time to investigate what happened (it is hard to search for deleted stops), but I finally understand the reason for my ban .

It’s the stops in the selected zone. All these pokestops are no longer in PoGo. They were the green cyclingtrailmarkers. Some of them aren’t vissible on streetview, some of them are. However, there is a path between nod 35 an 52 (as mentioned) and at every (T-)crosspath a sign is placed (and sometimes double). Two friends who submitted a pokestop there got a warning. I submitted most of them and got a ban.

Then also this mountainbike trailmarker got removed. As mentioned before, all these stops were in Destelbergen

Everybody, have a nice Comunity Day and save some shinies for me,

    yours, BoVdM

Some of these nominations do same legit and those players should have not been banned… the abusers did, but there were genuine nominations and nominations getting hit by niantic aswell

There are parts of Australia that have nothing but State Survey Marks (flat metal circles nailed to the ground about 50mm across most often places in road kerbs gutters etc). You get a grid pattern across whole suburbs though not as close as street lights. But very regular patterns. Even with Niantic saying they are not eligible they are nominated and accepted on mass.

And when you review and reject appropriately. Be prepared to be abused and rounded on. And from people who cry they are doing the right thing. It is for the game. And in the same breath boast how many they create. It is about the creation that counts or something. Expect disagree unhappy face to be clicked ;-)

Feel the pain on this street lights. Wow.

One thing I did see in this thread though. People will see successful nominations of mass coal dirt and people will go if they can do it why can I not do it. That is human nature. Because most of us will do the same. often without realising it. It is why advertising works. Repeated messaging will affect behaviour.

And sometimes the automated showcase showing people well junk....... Showcase though is not about right or wrong it is place to see remind you to go test yourself. Not always something acceptable

We are making on this noise here. There are other forums with noise. But with millions of players who will NEVER come near any forum which has any message on what not to do. The only message they get is seeing successful nominations.

So there must be a way to remove all successfully nominated junk in the system. Not just reporting and banning and having to ask for them to be removed.

That will mean AI of some kind. And it will not be perfect. And at the beginning it might be worse. People will be outraged and potentially some good stuff will be impacted. But the mass removal clearly send a message.

That said. Great thread and thank you to people for reporting this stuff. It will help make the game better. One lump of coal at a time :-)

That isn't Niantic's fault either. The showcase shows nominations that were voted highly by reviewers. So if bots/trolls are voting highly on everything, then the showcase has the potential to be full of rubbish because it's all getting 5* ratings. So it's still the fault of people misusing the system.

@NianticAaron, any news on this. Is this at least being looked at again? It is worrying that you are apparently removing legitimate cycling trail markers and banning users who submitted them.

*slow claps for the people are trying to ask Niantic for a sanity response*

Anticipate the following as a default response:

While the advice by many people is to stop Wayfarer altogether, if you've done any sort of Wayfinding in the last year... you're well in the crossfire.
