A cultural misunderstanding - this wouldn't be a bowling alley it would be crown green or flat green bowls.
It's a popular sport, played on closely cropped grass.
These clubs are generally private membership even if it doesn't openly state so. Private sports clubs are perfectly acceptable.

Could you elaborate a little on what it means for a bowling alley to be "private?"
"Private residential property" is only to apply to single family private residential property or dwellings and not a genetic catch-all for locations with private or limited access. A bowling alley or other play area limited to a specific community are still eligible.
Also, "bowling alleys are eligible" is a little subjective. They seem to be generally accepted, but there is no explicit guidance starting eligibility. I consider them typically eligible as fairly significant community gathering locations, but they could easily fall trap to the "generic business" label.

Thanks for clarifying.
And, yes, private locations are still generally acceptable.
if it's Crown Green Bowling or Pentanque (French Boules), it should be eligible, since they're usually for members anyway, even if they neglect to say so on their signage.
