I was trying to update a location that moved to the far side of the building it is located in, but the map kept snapping back to the original location when I let go of the map. As far as I know, the submitted location is the same as the original. It’s my first exit, so I don’t know the protocol.

Location edits in app are limited to ~10 metres to prevent abuse. If you want to move the location farther than that, login to the Wayfarer website and navigate to the help page. You'll find an orange speech bubble icon in the corner, and if you use that, you'll reach the support chat. You can request the edit here.
