Pedestrian Bridge denied for not being historically or culturally significant? What?

Ok, this is a strange one to me. There is a pedestrian bridge over one of the interstate highways in my city. The north entrance already has a Wayspot, so I submitted the south entrance. The bridge promotes exploration and exercise, as it's part of a walking/biking trail.
However, it was rejected for not being historically or culturally significant, which I find plain weird, as it's been standing for a few decades now. It also stands out in its design, and is painted in one of the colors of the local university. Shouldn't it qualify as a footbridge and meet criteria for exploration and exercise? It's used by so many people walking and biking on the path.
Here's the photo of the south entrance of the bridge, which received improvements last summer. It's located at R5WV+V8 Fargo, ND, USA, whereas the north entrance is at R5XV+67R Fargo, North Dakota. I made sure not to nominate the bridge itself, as the Wayspot would end up in the middle of the highway, and not be accessible by foot. Thanks!

That rejection reason usually pops up when your nomination gets marked as a duplicate, but not enough reviewers mark it as a duplicate to trigger the actual duplicate rejection. It's a well known bug in the system.
In this case, as you already stated, the bridge is a wayspot. You don't get to nominate individual entrances to the bridge. It is just one wayspot by itself. So the reviewers who marked it as a duplicate and got you the rejection were correct to do so.
I did see that about duplicate nominations being rejected as not historical/cultural.
The other entrance is literally called Fargo Pedestrian Bridge - North Entrance. Would it be better to try and update that Wayspot info to try and get the name and description changed?
Oh, and for the record, the pin for the bridge could be on the centre of it and it would still be valid. I get your concern about the highway, but it's a pedestrian bridge, so as long as the pin is on the bridge, it both represents the real life location of the bridge and has safe pedestrian access.
Probably a good idea. The description of it doesn't seem to need changing, but the title would be better without the north text, as like I said, the wayspot should be for the bridge itself.
Yeah, and being that Wayspot has been in the game for several years, it may be best to just try to update the name. The description is actually outdated as well, as it was painted blue at one time, but was repainted green 10 yrs ago, which is included in the current description. I don't always have the best luck with updating info, but will give it a try! Thanks!
If your nomination is within 2/3 cells of a similar nomination. I believe with my Duplicate experience Niantic will uphold the decline such a Appeal.
