Historic or Cultural Significance

Would it make more sense to add community significance to this question?

I am just here and have no idea where you are or to what you refer. I would if I were you.
I like this suggestion. The cultural/historical significance section is misunderstood A LOT
Historical and cultural significance is often documented by third parties. How would one prove "community significance" beyond "nominator says so"?
Well - If it is something in your community, you would likely know. You are correct that those outside the community might not have any idea who last last 3 mayors of the town were. But on the other side, does a park have historical or cultural significance? Some maybe, but it definitely has a community significance. A new community center or senior center doesn't likely have either, but certainly has a role in the community.
If you can prove community significance, I think that should also mean it is culturally significant to the local people there. But then again, other reviewers definitely will misunderstand and want a more definitive option.
I suppose some things one would assume would have significance to the local community such as a pub or church or even a playground.
Other things would probably need evidence providing that it has significance to the local area.
A community garden technically has no cultural or historical significance, but its fairly obvious by the name thay it has a significance tot he community, same with a community hall
I think renaming it makes sense because people really misinterpret what cultural/historical significance means in this specific context. A lot of people rate low on this for things like playgrounds or trail markers, although they are significant to the "community " because they're things used for gathering/exploring/exercise. I'm honestly not sure we even need that sub category to rate. I personally think the system would work fine if they removed this category and the visually unique one. I just feel like they're redundant. If it's an acceptable POI, it will generally have some sort of community/historic/cultural significance. I don't think I've 1*d that category while also giving 3-5*s for the submission overall.
To put in my bit it really does need to be changed, I've seen several rejections both for myself and others, because if this very thing stuff that are easy accepts like BMX trails, football pitches, basketball courts etc and they are technically correct in that they dont have a historical or cultural significance, just adding the word community to it would easily get this up to 5 stars as the communities would use these, either that, or niantic need to say under the heading that if the reviewer believes the nominations is acceptable in general then this needs to be minimum 2 star
