If a nomination was accepted how long does it usually take to appear in game?
Usually 1-2 days. That said not all nominations will appear in all games. If your nomination is too close to an existing location it might not ever be added.
If a nomination was accepted, it may or may not appear in your game.
If it will appear, it takes 12-52 hours. It varies too much to be more specific.
Each game has a global time (or more accurately: window of time) when it syncs on most days. (Some days get delayed.) Ask your local players when they usually see new wayspots in game. Currently, for Ingress the sync happens in the wee hours in EDT (New York Time), but PokemonGo has a different sync time.
BUT FIRST, each game does a drawoff of new data (new nominations plus edits and photos) HOURS BEFORE ITS USUAL SYNC TIME.
So let's just guess that a game's drawoff is done at 1AM in someone's local time, for the sync that will be at noon - not of that day, but the next day. If yours goes in, depends on the date and time of its acceptance email.
Remember, the sync might run hours later some days, because something kept it late. Server troubles maybe, or some other part of the system crashed and needed more resources, so the sync was put off a bit to "make room". It is also later when there's a global event in either game - probably to make sure processing time is available for the event.
Thank you, unfortunately I am not sure when exactly it was accepted. But it's been more than a week and still hasn't showed in game.
Then it's probably in a level 17 S2 cell that already contains a Pokéstop or Gym.
Hello and Welcome @caricacole-PGO
Your approved wayspots first get added to the Lightship database.
Each individual game decides on specific rules as to how it will select wayspots to use from that database.
As enough time has passed it is probable that your wayspot has not been selected by Pokémon Go.
If you provide the title and location (coordinates or exact address) we can check what has happened but this is the very likely explanation.
Sorry, what does exactly this means? Because I have the same issue and probably is for the same reason
I have the same issue but I think that slightly changing the position of my waypoint it will be good. Can I ask you?
Hello and welcome @AndreTorre94-PGO
If your nomination has been correctly placed then moving it simply to try and get it to appear is considered abuse of the system by Wayfarer.
Before I can comment further can you provide the title of the wayspot and it’s location (coordinates work well otherwise full address).
You can find out what is meant by S2 cells, by googling - Pokémon go S2 cells. The explanation by pokemongohub is good.
Thanks for the answer!
This is the accepted pokestop (45,6744008, 9,2476052). There is a gym right next to it but it's something different and my submission is a football field so can be located in a wider range of points. I didn't know about the cells but I checked and moving it just a bit should be okay, at least in theory.
Oh sorry I forgot the name of the wayspot: "Campo da calcio di via Aldo Moro"
@AndreTorre94-PGO It is definitely blocked from appearing in Pokemon Go by Parco giochi di via Ugo Foscolo.
It is already in a correct location for the wayspot, though. Niantic considers it cheating to move a pin in order to change the playfield for one specific game unless the pin is not at a correct location or the new location is a more logical place of discovery. In this case it's already in a correct location and I don't think there's an argument for moving it, but you've learned something valuable for the future.
Oh :( that's pretty sad though. The field is big, is it such a big cheating moving the pin just a little? I see that sometimes is requested to choose between two location for a wayspot while reviewing on wayfarer. Can't be this a similar case?
Oh, one more curiosity. In my case the problem is the other wayspot which is too close or the cells? Because I see that often there are a lot of pokestops closed to each other with no big deal.
@AndreTorre94-PGO Existing wayspots being close to each other can happen for multiple reasons. In Pokemon Go things can be very close together if they are just barely across the edge of a cell boundary.
Here are two different statements from Niantic saying that it's not OK to move a pin in this situation.
From December 2020: "location changes should only be submitted to make the marker more accurate or if the marker were to be closer to a logical point of discovery representing a larger location (e.g. a welcome sign for a large park)."
From the December 2020 AMA: "Submitters can verify the location selected before they submit the nomination but purposely moving the pin to manipulate a specific app’s gameboard is not allowed." I can't link directly to this quote but you can scroll down to find it.
Thanks for the answer!
@Hosette-ING is correct.
It’s frustrating but if you had positioned the pin originally at the other end of the field it would be fine. But to attempt to change it now is considered abusive as the only reason is to get it to appear in Pokémon Go. So dont try or you could have a problem. It’s a difficult lesson to learn but you now understand the importance of the cells.
it is best to leave this one and look for other potential.
I had a quick look around. I have picked out an area with a red circle in the first photo. Is this a newly planted orchard, and is it a community space? I couldn’t see any fences. If it is Will there be any signs put up.
i also saw this
What is this?
The footpath looks nice but I couldn’t see any special signs that would make distinct and special are there any?
@Elijustrying-ING Mistagged me. (-:
Thanks corrected. that bug with tags is really frustrating. 😂
Boulder ex-Bernini is another one of my requests, in fact. It had been rejected, but I appealed. It's a climbing gym carved into natural rock. According to Wayspot criteria, it should be fine, but it wasn't accepted. It's a gathering place in nature (located along a trail), and most importantly, a place for sports. There are also reviews on Google Maps.
I don't understand why it wasn't accepted, but I think it's being reviewed again now. I hope it goes well.
