I’m level 40 but it says I’m ineligible because I’m not above 37. Is this new math? Can someone help?

Did you definitely try to login with the right account details?
Yes. I only have one account. So I’m logged in with that one.
Sometimes this bug happens in low signal areas. Usually fixed with a restart.
I have a great signal so it’s not that either.
I’m linked with my Apple ID. I’m trying to link my google ID but it’s saying the account already exists. Which my I’m assuming is by me. I’m only logged in with this phone. No other device.
This happens when you have a low level account connected to the same email using a different log in provider. Please reach out to Pokémon GO in-app support if you need help connecting your account to a Google account. You can then use those log in credentials to access Wayfarer.
Did you link a google account to your pogo account? Thats how i fixed it. Goodluck!
