I’m having trouble completing the onboarding because I can’t figure out how to skip setting my home location.
I could spam-click through the onboarding pages without needing to interact with any of the content. Knowing all too well that many potential Wayfarers will do the same just to get to the test, I consider this a problem. Perhaps using videos instead had having candidates answer one or two questions at the end would work better.
Bring back the impression meter as low score unimpressed, with high is impressed or know its good portal

The previous criteria was much easier to understand with real photos. "A location in the middle of a roundabout lacks pedestrian access" was easy to understand better than a drawing that raised questions such as "Where exactly is that car?" Does this mean that POIs near streets are ineligible?
The decision to get rid of the quiz has a lot of pros and cons. It'll be possible to reverse the decision if there's tons of problems, but this might work out nicely. The one-in-forty conversion on the last Wayfarer challenge was really saddening, and I think I can get more people from my local community to participate now.
Number of people seems problematic...
the first options words don’t exactly match the numbers given... a few is generally used to describe 3 maybe 4... having the option of between 5-10 seems like a push...
also there are many places where having 5-10 people all in their own vehicles would just not be feasible/appropriate... even on foot this number of people could cause issues in some areas like where points of interest are the play structures that are part of housing communities or apartment complexes, residence can often become uneasy and even confrontational having strangers hanging around where their kids play... encouraging/alluding to this being a part of what makes a submission be approved could be sending the wrong message or could be used to excuse behavior that is not condoned by any of the games or by Niantic
It will be the last push to mass produce lower quality WAYSPOT.
I found the cartoons confusing and not instantly clear, where as a picture was easy.
Some of the cartoons were okay, but I think real photos would be much clearer and avoid ambiguity - maybe adding a few words would help too...
Yes a lack of contextual wording makes it harder.
Frankly, I don't think anyone is going to study this material presented this way. I was trying to get to the Review page and clicking Next through the pictures and finally realized there were words up there. I scrolled up as far as I could, but that's all I could get. It didn't even dawn on me that these were illustrations of criteria until I got this far through it.
I quickly clicked through the introduction/cartoons fearing that my account had somehow been reset because why else would the website be approaching me like I had never used it before...
and the next step is 10-100. not so fun if you have a place for 11...

People ignore popups like background noise and dismiss them as quickly as possible. Anyone involved in web development knows this.
The likelihood of these little cartoons helping anyone is quite low.
Not quite sure what to do if the location can't be confirmed or is mismached?:)

I think the new onboarding is great. While some may prefer pictures of real world locations, not everything looks the same from one culture to the next so I think these illustrations are a good way of conveying meaning across cultures and language barriers (i.e., if someone doesn't have the strongest reading comprehension skills they will still be able to derive meaning from this onboarding).
I think the eligibility criteria are much clearer as well. I would like to see a panel about where to find criteria clarification help when reviewing (the question mark) as some may not intuitively know how to click on that to get more information. Redirecting back to the criteria clarification tab helps a lot in initial onboarding, but I think adding that extra clarification for those actively reviewing who may want a quick reminder without navigating away could be an added benefit.
I don't know why the little Wayfinders have horns, but yeah, that makes sense based on *looks around*. 😅

What did you say to yourself when you picked 3 stars?
"That looks highly likely to be right but I can't absolutely confirm"
The only option I can see is to rate a potentially excellent submitted photo, title, and description as 'don't know' because of the way location has been bundled up which doesn't feel right.
When you click "I don't know" it asks which thing are you uncertain about - then you can select Location.
Do you think most reviewers, normal people not us, especially during say a challenge are going to go through all these steps, variations, nuances, menus, clicks and find reviewing an enjoyable thing to do?
My video to explain how to reject for Inaccurate Location is 35 seconds long. It might take 100 reviews or so to remember where to go to reject things but I don't think that's a ridiculous barrier.

Got online yesterday to review portals, then was surprised by the new look.
Please revert back to old format, love the warning before switch...

Thank you - I probably need to do a few more reviews until I come across the possibile issues/solutions.
I know we're extremely unlikely to get any information on how our reviewing responses impact acceptance, but my fears were that reviewing things where from no fault of the submitter it could be impossible to provide proof of exact location a "don't know" could lead an otherwise excellent nomination into an automatic rejection.
FYI It asked me to reconfirm where home town was and I chose where I lived yonks ago. I now live 12,000K a way. And I cannot change it.
I don't identify as having a home town. And I move every few years so hey.
Ooooops - the good news I get British nominations to review while reviewing Australian. Excellent. Breaks up the process. ;-)
Anyone else getting a cooldown after only reviewing 5 to 6? This has hit me twice in 1 day.
