"Upgrade Next" returns error

I could not find a similar issue, but I haven't been able to use the "Upgrade Next" feature to work since about a week after the reviewing rework on October 31st. I can't remember if I used it before or after the maintenance period on one that went through shortly after it came back up, but since that one went through, it gives me an error.
I see the above image like normal. Then it takes me to this:
Error text reads "Unable to Upgrade. (E2)". Subsequent times hitting the button just loops that message. I figured once something went through with an upgrade, it might reset, but that did not happen (I held one that was the next undecided and in queue to sort of pick which one got the upgrade).

In your Wayfarer settings, do you have automatic upgrades turned off or on?
I left it turned on, because I am worried that if I turn it off I will--as I am wont to do--forget to use them. I could try turning it off and then back on and see if that clears the issue...
Neither switching it off and trying nor switching it back on and trying again worked to correct this. I wonder if one of my nominations that was Upgraded and passed is stuck thinking that I have an active "Upgrade Next" applied to it?
