Unsuitable grave nominations?

@GearGlider-ING I wonder if the person maybe saw Casey orginal answer of "just cause it isnt ina graveyard doesnt mean its Ineligible" and was trying to use that as proof? Since casey has since removed that one it would now not clarify anything
Except that's in an entirely different thread.
And also reiterates the need for actual guideline updates as opposed to opinions posted in here that are not seen by everyone and sometimes later contradicted.
Saw this thread, recognized this type of nomination cause I've come across a few. Here's another one I just came across.
The graveyard seems to be FILLED with these kind of wayspots already, so the abuse is working just fine.
@Gendgi cluldnt remember if was this one or another but yes, guidelines need to be updated, and I would say localised ones as well but apparentlynthay idea is a bad one according to most people, apparwynthe status quo just now is te best idea
@GearGlider-ING sweet jesus. That's utter garbage. I am in here trying to defend certain POIs in cemetaries, but those are NOT the kind I'm fighting for. Ugh. Annoys me that people nominate dumb stuff like that, which ultimately makes it a harder battle for things that actually have some value.
Which, unfortunately, adds weight to the call for a total ban. If you allow a limited few, you get a mass of rubbish.
Hi folks,
I want to give some general guidance here because, as some folks have pointed out, cemeteries are not necessarily 100% no Wayspot zones. BUT, just because something has a picture on it, that doesn't make it art, which is why the majority of graves aren't eligible per the guidelines: Gravestones may be accepted, but only if the gravestone is publicly accessible and it belongs to a historical figure or significant community figure.
The guiding principle for Wayfarer is not "accept as many locations as possible" but rather to add unique, original, or interesting locations that encourage exploration and better understanding of a local community.
Nice to hear this, but what should we do for any Wayspots that went live on the public graveyard?
This submitter nominated some objects within local Chinese graveyard—this graveyard is just a public graveyard without a historical or significant community figure. I've encountered at least 10 of them, all in the same location, and mostly a gravestone or statues.
It's the total disrespect for people buried there! Especially named someone's gravestone into "red dragon stone"! And guess what, there are already some live Wayspots in that graveyard!
@patsufredo-PGO are they on graves? If the answer is no then by Casey's way of saying it, they would be ok, if they are on graves then they are rejected and should be removed
So we would expect only a few really significant things in cemeteries ( which I still think should be a ban because of the abuse we have been shown). This wouldn't include trail markers or ordinary information signs or other trails presumably? Just unique, interesting and original items.
It's a shame that it's not cleared up the confusion and arguments as that's four of five posts by Casey that have swung each way. I don't think this is going to get resolved properly and we just have to vote with our best intentions to limit the number of incorrect waypoints.
Sorry, didn't mean to make it look like I was still arguing one way or the other. The unique etc came , unfortunately like every single point being argued back and forth, from the last Casey comment. Tbh it would have been resolved ages ago if she never commented in the first place!
Im glad Casey clarified, I don't see how anyone could have thought grave stones that are usually purchased and mass produced from a catalog could be considered art.
Hey folks, it seems as thought we're getting off topic here so I'm going to close this thread.
