What business should be considered for as a waypoint?

I have seen a lot of submissions for various businesses. I have not seen criteria for a good business to be considered as a waypoint. Should it be local business? Historical value? Popular? Should Starbucks or Bestbuy or 24 hour Fitness be considered?

There is a rejection option under the first question for generic businesses. If you want guidance on what separates some businesses from others, consider what extra details there could be - how long the business has been around, if it is unique to the local community, if the business has won any awards, if they've put on any events for the community. Great nominations will meet some or all of these on top of exploration/socializing/exercise.
For those three you mentioned, I typically reject them as generic business.
"24 Hour Fitness" could certainly be a great place to exercise and Starbucks could certainly be a great place to be social.
Now if only a nomination could give High Quality and Accurate text enough to review as such.
Those are all also chains which generally gets them rejected as generic. Or used to, at least. A small local business would be more likely to get accepted even if they're doing pretty much the same thing as those chains, though it would usually still depend on how well the submitter describes them.
