I am getting that "Something unexpected has happened. Please refresh this page." error when trying to login to Wayfarer.Nianticlabs page.
It looks like it was a known issue that was supposed to have been resolved. But apparently, it is not.
I have cleared the cache and data. I tried incognito mode. I tried a different browser. I have tried it on both a computer and phone. I have tried both Facebook and Google logins.

Known issue with Facebook login that has been happening since Nov 6th, and there is no resolution yet:
Google login is not affected. You may want to double check to make sure your Google account is linked to your game account. If you're still having issues with Google, if may be an issue just for you.
I can’t get in with my Google either. It’s telling me I have to be level 37 to access Wayfarer, and I’m level 39. I’ve got my Pokémon Go account connected to my Facebook, Google, and Apple, and none are working.
