Even though on the website it says that you will initially receive a warning email from Niantic before any suspension(Image Below)
I immeadiately received a 30-day suspension from both wayfarer and pokemon go, which is especially wierd since I did not do anything hateful but rather just a fake nomination… is this supposed to happen? What should I do?

just above the part you quote is this
This means that a first time offender can be punished with any of the disciplinary actions listed below depending on how severe their offense was.
In other words if your offence is judged to warrant it the warning step is bypassed and you go straight to a higher level.
The punishment does not need to involve hateful actions but faked nominations will warrant a punishment of some description.
If you feel that what you did with the fake nomination does not warrant this action then please do follow the appeals process.

I'm assuming this is your post on the wayfarer subreddit?
I don't really have much to say about your infringement or the punishment (other comments on reddit have covered that), but I do want to say that it's good that your email gives you an example of what you did wrong. This is something new (to my knowledge), and was a much requested feature for warning/suspension emails, so I'm glad it's been implemented.
