Why are Niantic removing valid pokestops from Pokémon go for other games

As the title says why does this company removing valid permanent stops only to place a few temporary ones and then remove them once the event is over

Prime example: Alliance Structure (Cardiff) 51.478278,-3.175529

This was a pokestop for years, I even had a route published between this stop and another. Now I thought it was weird when my route randomly stopped showing up but when I checked this stop has been removed in Pokémon go (When submitting it shows it's used in other games) instead they have some temporary poke post Europe stops but this stop was there when the temporary ones first appeared.

I ask again why they removed it if it doesn't meet the removal criteria based on the fact it's used in other games

    This one?

The main photo has a lot of recognisable faces in so that needs removing anyways.

As for it being removed in Pokémon GO only, businesses and such can ask for geo-blocks on areas or having a certain game blocked from having it appear if they have issues with users of that game.

It still exists in the Lightship database so seems it has been one of those kind of requests.

When the temporary stops are removed, the old ones will likely reappear. Event and sponsored stops/gyms tend to have a radius around them that causes regular stops and gyms within that radius to disappear for the duration that the temporary stop/gym is active. It's to avoid things getting a bit too cluttered.

That being said, if there is also a proximity issue within Pokémon Go with other regular Pokéstops or Gyms, that may cause it to not reappear.

Are "The Duke" or "Tabernacle" Pokestops? If so, they are blocking "Alliance Sculpture" from being a Pokestop. If both or all three were Pokestops at one time, then it was the result of location edit abuse that bypassed Pokemon GO's density filters. This has been fixed and any edit will result in a revaluation to make sure that the Wayspot complies with the game's density rules.

Hopefully it is restored otherwise I'll have a route that is published but never be able to walk due to end point missing. I really doubt a business or council would request removal after such a long time.

"The Duke" or "Tabernacle" are not pokestops and afaik never were, the only other one in the vicinity was the library near the structure.

The Duke, Tabernacle and Alliance Sculpture are all in the same cell.

It may be that the Pokepost/Holiday season are interfering with existing poi?

Either The Duke or Tabernacle would have previously shown in Go if the Alliance Sculpture recently had a location change to their cell so I don't think it's that.

It would be weird for The Alliance Sculpture to be blocked given it's location.

I think like @HankWolfman-PGO said you'll just have to wait and see.

It will be interesting to see if your route comes back when the poi reappears. I say interesting, interesting for me undoubtedly annoying for you.

A few weeks ago, at my local I noticed some of the pokestops/gyms in populated cells were "rerolled" i.e. they disappeared from PoGo and became Ingress and/or lightship only POIs then something else in the same level 17 cell became a pokestop, none of those POIs were new. This caused a few routes to be stuck in limbo and it is quite annoying.

Yes that is the one, the photo was changed to remove faces

I don't think a business would have requested it removed as it is a large open public area (it's a public plaza) with plenty of room for pedestrians.

    1) It has been in Pokémon go since pretty much launch so why only recently request it removed?

    2) They recently had an event for Pokémon just under the structure and as stated they have multiple seasonal stops there currently that I doubt they would have added if a business complained

Something is very Sus and I don't think it's local business related.
