Appeal for Ticket #27830463
Hello,
I made an abuse report for 2 way spots, one existing, and one from reviewing, that are clearly on single family private residential property, and that I highly suspect are also fake.
Titles and Locations:
"HOA memorial" at 43.043959,-73.742046
"Memorial for Bert" at 43.043968,-73.74221
City: Saratoga Springs
Country: USA

Additional info:
The main photos for both of these way spots do not match the location. Street view is update to date as of 2023. The main photos show trees that have mulch and dirt surrounding them. Street view does not depict this. You can see grass surrounding the trees. This leads me to strongly believe that the way spots do not exist at the pinned locations. Additionally, you can clearly see that the neighborhood consists of single family homes. This is backed up by street view showing a house.
It is my strong opinion that both of these way spots should be removed. I will not be providing geotagged photos as I live several hundred miles away from this location. The evidence above is more than sufficient to determine that the way spots exists on single family private residential property.

Clearly in someone’s front yard and ineligible even if it weren't fake!
Hello, @Sunkast-PGO! It looks like we haven’t gotten to this request yet or it hasn’t been submitted via the Scanner; at this time, we only take appeals to overturn decisions we’ve already made.
@NianticRN Hello,
What is the Scanner you speak of?
I think you may be somewhat confused. I submitted a report via the new report abuse form. The ticket number for this abuse report and a screenshot of the email itself are in the original post. I did this because the "HOA memorial" way spot is a nomination that I reviewed. While reviewing this nomination I saw the "Memorial for Bert" is an existing way spot from the duplicate check.
The location of this nomination and existing way spot are in Saratoga Springs, NY. I live almost 800 miles away from there. Would you like me to spend $700 to buy a plane ticket, and another $100 on a car rental, to make my report in person of a way spot that is clearly on single family private residential property?
Another reason why I used the report abuse form is that I strongly believe that both way spots are intentionally misplaced, thus constituting abuse.
I have scrutinized the photos carefully and have found that the main photos do not match the area based on satellite view, street view, or to the supporting photo for the "HOA memorial" nomination that I reviewed. Again you can clearly see that the trees in the main photos have a significant area of mulch surrounding them. The area in the supporting photo, and street view show trees that are surrounded by grass. Street view is current as of 2023. The supporting photo also does not clearly include the object being nominated.
In the main photo for "Memorial for Bert," if you look at the top right corner, you can see some sort of pine tree or ****. This tree/**** does not match the area on street view as you can see from the street view screenshot in my original post.
The submitter's supporting statement makes a very vague reference to a meeting place down the street. I suspect this could possibly where the the true locations are for the objects. However again looking at satellite view, there does not appear any sort of building that I would believe to be some sort of meeting place where residents would gather. There is no parking lot of any sort on satellite view. It's nothing but single family private residential homes.
I ask again that the nomination and existing way spot be dealt with appropriately based on clear evidence that these are on single family private residential property, and that neither exist where the submitter claims they are.
After reviewing the additional evidence provided, we’ve decided to retire the Wayspot in question. Thanks!
