Employee creating portals on dangerous islands
Please Niantic share your input on why you think portals such as this are a good Idea. Only 3 people have access to these portals. They are also located in sensitive nature reserves.
It's so wonderful that these are all linked to a restricted access portal submitted under false pretence of being a water tower when its just a storage tank.

I'm not from Canada but on face value when I checked a couple and they don't seem to be restricted access?
For example, Entrance Island seems to have a lot of heritage value: https://www.pc.gc.ca/apps/dfhd/page_hl_eng.aspx?id=14815
Lennard Island has similar heritage value (https://www.lighthousefriends.com/light.asp?ID=1198) and a quick Google even shows glowing TripAdvisor comments on the trails on there.
Someone using their employer's resources to play a game is between them and their employer. But in this day and age having no 4G/5G coverage really isn't a problem for Niantic games as shown in various threads around here.
Go ahead and try, its CCG property and they do not give tours. It's heli access only. Being heritage doesn't override there being the keeper, assistant keeper and he pilot the only ones being able to access this area.
In the USA the Coast Guard is a branch of the Military.
The thing is, coast guard isn't in the business of giving tours and one shouldn't have to depend on that. Seems like the Lighthouse Friends website actually gives useful information, for Lennard, Kains (Quatsino) and Estevan it says grounds are open but lighthouse is closed, whereas for Entrance Island both the grounds and lighthouse are currently closed, but that might imply it was open once upon a time and could be open in the future.
If the grounds are open then there's nothing preventing you from accessing the islands, some of them seem pretty close to the mainland so you can just boat across yourself?
Here's an extract for one of the islands you listed:
---
Visitor Information
Quatsino Lighthouse can be accessed by kayak or boat from Winter Harbour, which is reached via two hours of driving on good logging roads from Port Hardy. A quicker option by boat would be to launch at Coal Harbour.
The lighthouse is owned by the Canadian Coast Guard. Grounds open, tower closed.

As a boat owner, I would actually try if I lived in Canada, instead of trig bagging I could go lighthouse bagging.
Still, the fact that someone is using their employer's resources for a game is a problem between them and their employer. That's going to happen no matter whether they're in a remote area or not.
Just a reminder that you've posted this before:
If you think that you'll drag the CCG to deal with those Portals then go on; that's actually the correct procedure the Ambassadors have told you. If they're unhappy with the existence of those Portals then they can request their removals directly to Niantic.
The logic is that so long as someone can resch them. This person can. There is pedestrian access (for this person at least). It sucks and is entirely outwith the spirit of the game imo, but he's working within the rules and guidance
Working so well for them, so well that there's no one left in the office for Ingress to fix bugs or turn off temporary event effects.
The failure that was Chronos probably sucked the last bit of life out of the Ingress team. The games devolved into abusing restricted access portals as much as possible now.
Just got home and looked at the Intel map, seems like the salt probably comes from the fact the blue links are blocking something for someone trying to field to/from Hawaii. 😂
The title of this thread is pretty misleading though. OP states that the islands are dangerous (it's not, Lighthouse Friends even gave instructions on how to get to them). "Only he has access to" is also not quite accurate, as OP even proceeded to state 3 people have access, but that also isn't true either given the information available.
Seems like Lennard Island was looking for a lighthouse keeper in 2022, should've taken the job!
If it was me and I felt strongly about it, this is what I'd do - get a boat or find someone with a boat (e.g. charter one), for that sort of distance a standard fishing boat should be fine, but depends on where you depart from, you might need to carry some extra jerries. Keep an eye on tide and the weather, especially wind, it might be a nice and sunny day but high waves can be an issue. You can easily tow a standard fishing boat through logging roads with a regular ute like a Hilux, Patrol or a Ranger, you don't need a RAM or a Chev.
That information is long outdated bud, there is only two manned lightstations now and its all CCG property.
No argument about it being CCG property, the links I posted even said so, the point is the title of the thread is inaccurate. You're more than welcome to disagree with me, but if you want to convince others you will need to link to some information rather than relying on "coz I said so". I'm simply posting a potential solution to your predicament as it's probably easier than convincing Niantic to change their definition of no pedestrian access or getting the coast guard to request portal removal. Alternatively you can try to get the dude fired from CCG. :)
