What FACE!
I do not think this should have been rejected. If so the are a lot of stops that need to be removed from LA to DC. This also took an automatic upgrade.

I think the “face” rejection also includes body parts (your thumb). Also, you can turn off automatic upgrades.
Really the community is that picky that because of something like that. It would reject the stop? Wow I have been way to nice. Being a photographer I normally use a digital camera. The first time I used it I was accused of using third party photos. Now they are not good enough. I will put it back up in the morning. With just messed up enough photo. 😅🤣😂
Would you like suggestions on improving the whole nomination? Title, description? For the photo, I personally would try to center the photo around the sign a bit more.
Then get told that I don't show the surrounding area enough! Don't get me wrong I do thank you I just think that sometimes people go a little overboard with their judging of the photographs. I will be judging on the same levels that I am judged on. I just think if there's nothing rude or nasty or impolite on the photograph then there's really no reason to reject it but I understand there are guidelines so I will follow those guidelines. I will look closer before I post one
If you refresh the the page a few times it may bring up more options in terms of rejections. What is the crossroads? It may be that people were not satisfied that the whole nomination was acceptable and simply used the thumb as a reason to record the reject.
if you are going to resubmit feel free to share so we can give an independent view if there is anything else to address and just crop out that thumb. Avoid anything that gives a reason to reject.
Personally I think a straight on picture with the crossroads sign nearly filling the picture woukd look great as it is unique compared to a photo that is of an ordinary building. I would then make that photo the supplementary. But that’s a personal preference, and I wouldn’t have rejected on what you have shown.

IT'S LITERALLY IN THE GUIDELINES THAT YOU AGREED TO WHEN YOU SIGNED UP! DON'T HAVE BODY PARTS IN THE PHOTO! TAKE QUALITY PHOTOS!
This photo is at an angle, your fingers are in it for some absurd reason, and you should turn off auto-upgrade.
You don't need a special camera, any phone has a camera that is capable of high quality photographs as long as you keep your fingers out of the lens and center the photograph on the subject being captured.
No no no that is not what I was saying at all. What I said was. I used my main camera the first time out. "I was accused of 3rd party photos" ( it was to nice) then when I use my phone they are not good enough. 😐 . I can always find imperfections in any shot. If the don't interfere with the subject. What is the harm. Oh should we not have the same standards on the text.?
..
.
It's not "imperfections", two of your fingers are visible in the photo.
If there's a typo in the text it can be edited later, the photo would have to be removed and that's more complex, so keep your fingers away from the lens.
It really depends on what you submit. If it's easy no-brainer nomination which should be accepted, some reviewers will decide that photos are "good enough". If you're nominating a restaurant (no idea what "crossroads" is), imperfect photos will hurt nomination. If "crossroads" is something like a grocery store, photo does not matter.
Most people check their photos before submitting them, and it would have only taken a few extra seconds to notice the fingers and retake the photo. This is such an easy mistake to avoid that it's not even clear to me why it's an issue for discussion other than the face rejection reason being a bit inaccurate.
