Nominate a new wayspot or edit everything?

I have been wandering around my local area and find it tough to scan portals and actually find the wayspot on the screen where it should be. Hence I have been needing to spend more time with edits/appeals.

There is a memorial bench in a local park that is in the wrong spot greater than 20m from where it should be based on the photo and landscape surrounding it from the in-game photo. I can see where it should be based on the current wayspot photo. The bench has been replaced with a newer one in the same spot. So this would be a location move as the current is actually placed "on the road" in the wrong spot.

The issue I am finding with memorial benches are that they often have plaques removed. I have found many with no memorial plaques on them where there were previous ones.

This bench I am looking at in this park has a different plaque (different memorial family) than the original poster's photo. So it would be a title/description edit and a new photo. However, it is in a neat secluded location and would be nice to maintain.

In the same park there are other memorial benches, where the plaques are gone. I am finding that around town when trying to scan portals. Since I am actually trying to scan the correct place/object. It is a fun game to have my kids help me locate these wayspots. Likely would need appeals to remove these and I am sure I would irritate many people.

So should I submit edits and likely appeals for this particular situation? Or do I submit a new nomination in the correct spot and a removal for the original?

Thanks

I find it easier to edit everything instead of asking for the removal of the existing ones to submit new ones. Especially since now, there's a new AI in place that rejects almost every submission for no reason.

If they are just in different locations, it is better to edit them.

If it has been changed to another category, it is better to delete it and submit a new nomination.

One piece of advice. Edit the photos first. If you request a title edit of “John Doe memorial bench” to “Jane Doe memorial bench” but the photo still shows “John Doe”, the edit will likely fail.

Thanks. This location is off so would need to be edited. It is a memorial bench, so the same category. However, the photo is outdated and the title/description would be different as well since the memorial bench is no longer for the same individual. Not entirely sure how that all works, but clearly a new memorial is up for a different person in the same location. If that makes sense.

I have found AI rejecting stuff right away quite annoying lately. The one issue is for showing supporting information for the location edit would be difficult unless I can also request the title/description change in the same category. Since my supporting evidence is different unless you look in the background of the previous photo and my updated ones. To see the positioning of the previous bench and the current one to understand why the plaque name is different etc
