Photos to support your claim: No actual photo can be taken - this is on a private Grade School (and up) property, not visible directly from the public roadway, and the Chapel was not open to the public when the invalid portal was reported.
Additional information:
While much of the military academy is through Junior College, classes start at middle school/junior high.
Their Facebook page even has a video that spells out the location filmed is Shannon Hall, between classes. The ages of the students videoed are quite clearly younger than adult age. And the cannon is directly outside that building - making it not an appropriate location for a portal/Pokemon Go/wayspot. Much of the campus used to be open to public at least one or two days a week - but right at the main academic building is not a place frequently visited by others, and never has been. Especially since 2020.
