What classifies a Significant Member of the Community?

What classifies a significant member of a community? Someone who worked hard to improve their community could be seen as a significant member locally, but not to those from out of town. How is this criteria decided upon? If you feel that a site memorializing that member would make a good spot, how do you go about sharing that information to those that don't feel the same?

This is a good question, thanks for asking. It really depends on the community in question (i.e. more rural communities might have different definitions of 'significant' than small cities or larger cities) and the country in which the Wayspot is appearing. The guidelines regarding this aren't clearly defined because it varies from place to place.
Generally, if there is a person who is considered to be a community leader, someone who left their mark on the community either physically or otherwise, I would consider this to be significant.
With regard to including information, this is what the "Supporting Information" section is intended for, to provide additional, often local, context to better assist in the review of the location. Please keep in mind that, while this section can include links, the Title and Descriptions cannot.
Hope that's helpful!
there are many types of nominations i have often though of submitting but most i dont do for constant knowledge they will get rejected * out of hand* .
until Wayfarer tightens the reviewers rules and stops the frivolous rejections its never going to improve.
Ex-Mayors or city councillors,
famous artists, musicians or sportspeople,
high ranking religious or political figures born in that town or
volunteers that have served a significant length of time (~10+ yrs) in a certain role are the sorts of people that make good submissions.
If you can't write at least two sentences about their achievement then it's probably not enough info for good submission.
