Just need some feedback as to whether this is considered to be an acceptable nomination or whether the rejection reason of being Explicit Content is valid.
I know it's just a plain memorial bench, but
Its a POI, but its not a 100% save accepted one. You may need to submit it multiple times. On this, I would suggest creating a streetview to prove its location.
Would be rejected as a "Memorial Bench" type submission, the plaque is too vague. The Niantic guidelines say:
"Memorial bench/plaques - Eligible, if dedicated to a noteworthy member of a community or historical figure."
"Sorry women of Camden, but surviving breast cancer is not significant."
It might not mean much to anyone outside the community, but to a small town of 3,000 people, this group of women is quite important that they've established the Camden Survivors of Breast Cancer community group as well.
I forgot to post that I did submit this nomination two weeks ago, but the rejection reason was that it was flagged for explicit content.
Think I'll just move along.
The rejection reason is clearly nonsense and as there are no other reasons given then this must have been the ONLY reason for rejection. Seems unlikely that multiple people would have chosen this and no other reason so maybe this rejection reason needs just one or two hits to kick in a rejection in the Niantic algorithm as that's the sort of thing you would want to weed out quickly. You may have just been unlucky with some misogynists.
IMHO it's not an amazing nomination, seems more like a personal story of someone's battle with cancer but it's an untold one. We've got a (vaguely) similar bench out in nomination. I'm not hopeful as unless your bench has a carved animal or has a dedication plaque to an A-list celebrity with full biographical details then they are largely rejected.
I'd be tempted to resubmit with a title of "Camden Survivors of Breast Cancer 2002-2012" (similar to your original title) and description of the exact wording on the plaque. If you get it back with JUST the reason "Nomination does not meet acceptable criteria" you have your answer.
wrote a thought out reply that seems to have disappeared so apologies if this dupes
i know some religions require women to completely cover their bodies, so maybe the word "breast" was "explicit" to some. if you do resubmit (i know you said you were moving on) try using "spirit of friendship" as the title.
this photo looks familiar. i think i got this nomination and rejected it as a generic bench. if you resubmit, be sure to include a link to that camden survivors of breast cancer group in the supporting information. show it is a memorial to a specific, important group of people, not just a general thought.
Thanks for the suggestions. It isn't amazing, but for a small community, it might seem significant to them. I dunno, trying to drum up a reason to acknowledge them but maybe it is better to just leave it be. I might come back into town and probably resubmit it if I get the chance to. But memorial benches are difficult, I will probably find something else, nominations are scarce. Appreciate the thoughts!
Also it's nice to hear from a fellow local reviewer. I'll do more effort next time.
