Clarification for a closed "school"

Does a school which have been deserted for 30 years could be a wayspot? It is kind of historical site and people are able to access. However, it is still be a property of the Education Bureau so it may become a school again in the future days.

If it isn't a school right now and there's something eligible there, it should be eligible. It mikght be hard to have it accepted, though, especially if there are still signs of it being a school in the past.
We got a waypoint at an old school accepted (plaque and date stone from late 1800s). I guess you need Google maps to not show it as a school and you need reviewers who read the whole submission (ours hadn't been a school since the Internet was invented which probably helped!!)
There's a school near me that has been long converted into a senior center, its athletic fields are now under county park & rec. I've had no problem getting those accepted. Hopefully there is sufficient evidence for the reviewer that the school is, in fact, permanently closed/repurposed.
Only reference the fact that is used to be a school in the supporting info, and that it's no longer used for the purpose since <date>
Any mention of school in the title or description seems to result in a rejection, as I found when attempting to submit an historic schoolhouse (had a memorial plaque) which hadn't had any students since 1948 and located in ghost town.
Yes, I've seen that too. Even the mentioning of "school" anywhere in the title or desciption seems to be an auto-reject since reviewers are so afraid to get lower ratings.
Lol yup. Yet I WILL someday get that mini pavilion at the local Board of Education head offices accepted! I will!
I managed to get a registered historic building approved (3 tries) that currently holds the local school district offices (for people not familiar, no kids there. It's offices where school district officials work). And-- it was next door (but separate!) From a school. I'm thankful/surprised it only took 3 tries 😂
@Mormegil71-ING,
If I see school in the title or description, I keep reading. I have reviewed enough to know that not all schools are primary schools or still open. Before Niantic introduced the newer rating system, I had a low rating. I enjoy both Pokemon GO and Ingress but know people like to distort what should be. That is why my rating is/was so low.
