Hi why is it that Niantic state that all trail markers are acceptable as long as they aren't those that have paper arrows for example and that now if you have a trail marker taking you down one path if you come to another that is pointing you the same path and was put there so you at least know your going correct way is also allowed to be used, as I see a lot getting rejected for being duplicate.

Because it isn't Niantic reviewing most requests. It's other players. And most players don't know the guidelines, or choose not to follow the ones they don't like.
Depends how far apart they are, if there are a lot of identical markers close together they may get marked down for not being "visually unique".
Don't hesitate to provide more details with your submission. You can refer reviewers to the latest AMA about trail markers.
Take a good picture of the surroundings (with the trail marker candidate visible), also you can use Google Street View app to upload a Photosphere.
I think it just needs some time until the new guidelines are known by everybody. Good trails are great for rural areas who have lost the stops on private property.
Unfortunately we face many fakes with trails. Reviewers are careful because they fear bans.
We should not give up on trailmarkers but learn together.
Hi while i was in east runton and cromer way i came across 3 things to submit and it just happened to be a really bad day of rain storm but thought well might as well and before i did i looked at guidelines noticed that the three i was submitting met criteria but one has been rejected and i am not in that area now so can't do anything about it but if my other 2 get rejected then it is only one reason they have.
