My bonus location has been Mombasa for the past couple of years. Recently, nominations from there have dried up, though it has a lot more wayspots then when I started. Perhaps they no longer need outside help.
Anyway, looking for a new location. Preferably somewhere anglophone, but that's not a deal breaker.
Grateful for any suggestions.

West Africa in general is quite low density. Accra (Ghana), Lagos (Nigeria), and Kap Verde are exceptions. Abidjan in CIV is still low, but is moving up due to a very active community (I'm even in their Discord as I write this).
Though, if you set your location there somewhere, you could keep in mind that your area is the lvl 6 S2 cell you choose plus the surrounding eight cells. If you set the location by a sea side city (very often the case in West Africa), you get a lot of ocean cells, which are of no use. It is often better to set it in a town one cell inland removed of the one you actually want.
Interesting. I'll stick Abidjan on the short list. Also looking at Kinshasa/Brazzaville but my French sucks bottom.

I know that a bunch of Swedes are reviewing in Kinshasa, and it has gotten quite a few new ones. It has been no new stops there since summer, though. There is 23 poi in Kinshasa, and 10 in Brazzaville. I think they lack local submitters, and with the virus, very few visitors come there.
I try to run statistics (and update the PoGo map) on at least West Africa, and this is what I have so far:
Sierra Leone has plenty of nominations in English; few reviewers. Several reviews have been in voting and upgraded for 11 months now. Do pick a town like Waterloo or Freetown though. I made the mistake of picking a country and ended up with empty ocean cells. Not useful to anyone for a whole year.
