Post box rejected - advice needed

Can you offer some help how to get the post box approved?

A better angle with a direct view of the cypher for starters. But honestly, I don't think post boxes should be automatically accepted simply because it is old. You need to prove that it has historic significance by linking to its listing.

While I agree that it may not be the most exciting of POI, it would at least add a stop to a residential area that has a very low stop density.

Otherwise we just have to accept that the games are only designed to be played in town centres.

Rule number one:

Go out to the street and take the photo there, not from the windows of your house.

i think that looks like Queen Victoria, but you need a better angle.What reason was given for turning it down?

A nice photo straight on at the cypher, where the box fills the frame.

it’s not clear from your photo what the cypher is.

supporting pic, at street level showing the box and it’s position - maybe one from across the road showing it’s at a junction.

Take your time and try and get a time when there are cars not blocking the picture of the postbox.

It will enhance its chances if there is something specific you can point out, eg does the date range for George VI fit with when the houses were built?

It's a Queen Victoria pillar box. I've never had a postbox rejected (and I've nominated postboxes of all shapes, sizes and ages). Have a look at this thread I started:

For info, the nomination has been rejected due to the following reason(s):

The real-world location of the nomination appears to be on private residential property or farm, Photo is low quality (e.g., pitch black/blurry photos or photos taken from a car), Nomination title or description is not relevant.

If it is a Victoria postbox and your description was for George VI then it would be rightly rejected as the description /title not being relevant.

There are several good websites you can go to to check out the cypher to see exactly what you have.
