It's been almost a month since I requested a portal, and it's still in "voting". I wonder if each portal you submit will take more than a month to be approved or not?

Depends on how many people review in your area. Lots of reviewers and you see results in a week or two. Few reviewers and it can take over a year. By reviewing yourself you can gain agreement progress for an upgrade which will let your nomination be seen by more people farther away. My best advice is to encourage others near you to review.
one month and in voting is quite good. Mine are over a year in quere^^
