This one's actually on the public area but it's still hilarious. Why would you nominate a water dispenser?
Not to mention there's a phone watermark in the photo. Let's see what's in the supporting information:
Wow, you're looking cool today, Mr. Handsome (Tampan)! 😂
Even describes itself as coal...
I got this yesterday
It's nice to know that the local Sylvanian Families have things that "encourage exploration"
Bringing this back up as I’ve had a few more lately.
I’m just adding this here whilst I have some more photo comments awaiting approval. This person was identified as Niantic and originally had a Niantic name but maybe they’re not anymore.
However they did state to leave addresses in, so that’s what I’ll do going forwards.
A few more as well.
Guna is Niantic EG.
Sometimes, mods lose their Niantic-nicknames and fall back on their original account names.
Maybe Gary knows more about this :D
Ah cool. I went to grab the quote and noticed it wasn’t Niantic-Whomever as before.
This one said: Special location nobody will find.
Was in someone’s backyard.

Why do so many people disagree with sub division signs but are okay with apartments and condos? I live in a rural sub division. My house and the five around me have twenty people living in them. You don't get that from apartments. Apartments and condos are listed as a choice, but sub divisions aren't. I am guessing they put the"other" in most if not all for things that should or could be but they can't list everything. I nominated mine just to see what would happen. I expect it to be rejected. Pokemon Go has grown from just being a city game. It is played everywhere. We play by car because everything is so far away and there are no sidewalks. Mine is a dead end street.
So generally subdivision signs for apartments/condos aren’t eligible unless its artistically unique. Apartments and condos aren’t eligible. How ever things around them can be
Click on the building tab, the very first thing is Apartment or condos. If they aren't eligible why are they there? The argument could be made about art is in the eye of the beholder. I would say this is why we have the other option to click on. I'm not trying to be argumentative. I do think something needs to be done for the rual players. Other than the occasional church, that's all we have, until we have to go to town for something. Like it says, apartments and condos are okay. Same thing just without the nature.
The "What is it?" list has nothing to do with what is eligible and contains many items that are never eligible, such as elementary schools. It exists merely to classify submissions for Niantic's own purposes. (It is a common misperception, though, that things on the list are eligible submissions, so don't feel bad about the confusion.)
That said, it is possible that an apartment building could be eligible if it has architectural or historical significance, so there are times when it would be an appropriate choice from the list.

I had no idea that they had elementary schools listed. Or any school for that matter. Yes I know of some apartment buildings that have a cool history. Yet the vast majority at least here in Texas are just newish build them as quick as you can. My question is what about all of us that can't sit in their living room and spin a pokestop. Yes I know that guy. Those of us who live in the rual areas. I've played since 2016. I've seen many people quit over the years. Our wild pokemon have increased, but our stops and gyms haven't.
Where I live. We have the occasional deer, road runners, rabbits, etc. It's a dead end street. Many people walk around the neighborhood.
I do know of a few historic apartments. But the vast majority at least in Texas are the prefab put them up as quick as you can. I've seen a green slide pokestop because the others weren't green. The problem is our wild pokemon have increased but our stops haven't. I've known many people quit because of having to drive a good distance to a pokestop. I know someone who lives in the city that sits in his living room and spins a restaurant pokestop from his sofa. We need something. The game has evolved from just being a city game. I submitted my sub division sign for a stop. I expected it to be rejected. We need something other than the occasional church.
I had a Pokemon Go submitter tell me about a Little Free Library he found and submitted. I told him it was cute, but likely to be rejected because it was clearly on Private Residential Property. He then asked about how he could get a LFL put up and I referred him to the Little Free Library website, saying that if he intended to get oe put in on public property he should work with the town or entity in charge of that spot. He then replied by asking if he could put up a LFL at his house. I said, yes, of course, but it would not be a good candidate because it would be on private residential property. He then replied that he was going to try. In this case, I hope the original submission is indeed rejected so as to discourage the attempt to get a home pokestop created and submitted. One bad review leads to another!
Sometimes I can't even understand why people keep submitting stuff like these 🤦♀️
Or this one which claims to be an Abandoned haunted house...
And whenever a nomination from Argentina appears...
....there u go.... very impressive 👌

I had that dog one a couple of months ago, it looks depressingly like they just resubmitted it to keep trying until it passes
Across the road from a (presumably the submitter’s) house.
