I rejected eighteen in a row.

I think it's time for a submitters test we have the reviewers test when we all first applied so when you go to make your first submission why not have a test then as well ?
The quality of submissions lately has been poor the system must be backlogged with thousands of house submissions, eiiz postboxes, trees , patches of grass, ordinary memorial benches, major supermarkets, chain businesses, patches of concrete, what the heck is that, and so much more.
They never upgrade them either so if you come across one by chance it lingers in the system while countless more submits like this are made.
Legitimate submissions in a que or upgraded take longer.
I don't know what else to say does anyone else agree ?

[EDITED: yikes, I really misunderstood that - I thought you had 18 nominations rejected, not that you rejected 18.]
I have absolutely felt the sharp decline in nomination quality the last few days. People submitting the walls in their homes, a whole nomination written in keysmashing/gibberish, people nominating trees... along with a lot of other trash.
I don't know for sure if it has to do with opening nominations to level 38 and up users in PoGo - but if it does, it seems to only have downsides so far. Real bad ones.
I 100% agree with you - submitters need to pass a test. Now more than ever.
Sorry there was a typo in the title I've just corrected it.
I'm not a commited submitter once or twice every so often that's it.
I like to review I'm at over 82,000 and the quality of reviews as of late has been terrible.
Yep I feel a submitters test is a must now there was a huge amount of " does not meet criteria " in the system before always has been but now it's an epidemic.
I haven't been reviewing long, but I had a string of real awful ones the other day. Goku from their TV, A selfie as the main image, a normal fire hydrant. Those are annoying but easy to spot and report as abuse. But I've also seen some that misplaced legit submissions down the road to what I assume is closer to their homes. Some of these are more likely to slip through and that's annoying.
I've been promoting the idea that submitters should be prompted to follow and specifically identify how their submissions conform to the New Criteria.
Initially, the same process: Picture, location, title description, supplemental info and pictute, and then:
is this a great place for A. exploration B. exercise, or C. being social?
Exploration? Great!
Please choose which of the following categories best represents your submission:
Is this a permanent physical, tangible, and identifiable place or object, or object that placemarks an area?
Does it have safe and publicly accessible pedestrian access (indoor or outdoor)?
Then have them go through the rejection criteria, one at a time.
Do all of this before they can submit.
In a perfect world, reviewers would see all of these and either confirm or deny the submitters choices.
It's a great idea reviewers have to pick a category why not submitters ?
The coal is getting heavier for sure. I think one thing that’s a minor change that would help that others have suggested before, using “Wayfarer Neutral Language” on all apps. Currently it asks what Agents/Trainers would find there and why it makes a good PokéStop for example. It should switch to Waypoint/POI as we know it doesn’t always result in a PokéStop and leads to people begging for such in their supporting statements.
I rejected 2 in a row last night and immediately got a cool down! I don't know why I get them the last couple of months but never did before. I don't think I changed how I review... If anything I take more time now to fill in 'what is it'.
I do think submitters should take a test too - it would really help them make the most of their nominations and also **** out some of the bad ones that are currently part of the learning curve... I know my first couple of submissions weren't good (although they weren't my living room or a bin or my face so.....) but I do think it would be helpful. It would also stop people submitting their first one for a joke, as you would hope only the more serious people would complete the test.
Already I can see a pattern arising us player reviewers would appreciate a submitters test.
It's to improve the quality and to educate new submitters, suggestions on how this can be implemented have already been suggested above.
I still would like to see more opinions or ideas because if this thread gets enough attention perhaps Niantic will implement some of them in the near future.
I have the same issues, I rejected like 4 or 5 trees and various inside-houses stops and a lot of Xiaomi watermarks photos and a screenshot of a cellphone just today, terrible.
And I'm not even having a 'good' reviewer qualification.
I feel people getting more picking up random stuff today i got a haidresser and a wooden door, two days ago i got a school from the few maybe 10-20 i do a day and i really got maybe 20% rejected because of PRP
Makes it quicker to review but we got more work now too
On those options you can add a few more for example playgarden or post office
Those are just the options Niantic posted in their criteria un exploration. Playground falls under exercise. Post office falls under social.
Just three examples out of so many more, all identifiable information has been drawn over.
I know that but a lot of people probably don't so i think it could be highlighted if they add those
I also got a tree yesterday btw
I report all home submission attempts via wayfarer Google Doc and abuse rejection reason.
One more for you.....
Blimey...
I got someone's dog, someone's stuffed animal, LOTS of trees today
Everyone who can nominate now wants to nominate something, but the truth is in a lot of places all the eligible nominations have been made already.
It's honestly becoming quite clear it's a big problem as of late more so then usual, from the submitting point of view there are no checks and balances.
We are the checks and balances. Submitters don't have to pass a test because we the wayfarer reviewers are scoring their test--- the nominations.
Ooh, there needs to be a megathread of like extreme coal. I share the same sentiment; since they reduced the level for nominations to Level 38 every single wall, child, mechanic and Pokemon Go-related thing has clogged up the reviewing queue and just accentuated it to no end. Here's a few examples:
I have no reservations in the braindead idiocies that are these reviewers that should never have gotten the privelege to nominate, or that they should instantly lose their ability to nominate.
Here's three more examples of house submission attempts, they appear way to much recently just look above at my other posts all within a day or two of each other, some submitters have no idea about criteria this is why I argue for a test or make it mandatory to read criteria somehow.
A lot more rejections today and beat the titles record of this thread 21 in a row just now unreal and more of these:
My last 10 reviews:
1 playground 4*
4 trash nominations 1*
1 good nomination which had Pokemon GO contexted descriptions 1*
1 memorial with a picture taken at 2am 1*
1 submission I didnt understand based on the dutch language with slang I dont know and some random picture / skipped
2 Fake nominations I saved which get reported later this week 1* (abuse)
1 accepted nomination, which was a mainstream nomination... At least easy agreements but thats very sad....
I don't know if a test will be enough. A ban could be better. Based on the submissions I can already identify more notorious cheaters. They are the baddest. Photoshopped pictures, intentionally false locations. Somebody inserted a whole football field between block of flats. On the supporting photo were just a few country houses nearby. But the marked location was surrounded by blocks.
The next category, which is the most, is the private place submission. Somebody photographed his wallpaper of his living room. Other did the same with the curtain. Lots of ruined wells, dog houses, sandboxes, swings in the backyards. And they write literally in the supporting info filed: " I need a pokestop at home". It's insane!!! By the way the list cannot be complete without when each parts of a playground are submitted separately, and misplaced of course.
!!!!But all the worst in this is that the most of them will be approved!!!! I'm sure there is a community, a kind of conspiracy in the background. Just for fun I collect the most disgusting cases. I always make a srceenshot about them. I have a nice collection already.
Edit:
These makes me upset, because I try to do everything when I review the submissions. Lots of searching, lots of time. I also report them in the worst cases. If they will be approved despite all this, I ask myself does it has a sense at all.
I just report the house submissions via Google wayfarer doc and abuse rejection reason.
Latest fun:
Totally eligible playground. Slam-dunk 5*...and the submitter put in the description <Trainer Name> was here.
yeah, we also got a POI named "Playground <name of the submitter>". It will hopefully get renamed (edits need minimum 5 months), but at least he got himself in the game xD
Most of my rejection agreements come from submitters who nominate 'ridiculous' things. If I can keep the record of those noninations, then I can make an album of them.
Like, in every 100 reviews I've met up to 10 awful nominations like that. Example of nominations I reviewed today:
1. It's just a generic government office, but this submitter doesn't have an idea what to write in the title and description. Supporting information states that his community need moar Pokestopz,
2. It's a mosque but the photo was taken away from the object. Guess what, this submitter wrote only 1 word in supporting information: "mosque"
Seriously, how should we do to stop this craziness?
taking the right of submitters to submit. Make tests based on the quality of wayspots. Let them first choose a category what they are submitting. Show them the giudelines. Create tests not only based on locations. So many chances which never got used by Nia....
