Let's NOT barbecue Ingress players...
Hello, first post. 😊 I'm an eager Wayfinder and just had this accepted:
Title: Bålpladsen på Skelagervej
Location: 56.190474, 10.192788
City: Aarhus
Country: Denmark
Situation/issue: The Wayspot was accepted, but was moved in the voting process, which is problematic.
Additional information: Excited as I am to have this Wayspot accepted, I am quite puzzled by the fact that reviewers apparently agreed to move this RIGHT into the fire (where it will be, anyway)!
I am a PoGo player mainly, but I play some Ingress too, and I know that proximity to the target means quite a lot in Ingress.
I know and agree we have to set location where the Wayspot actually is, but in some cases - like this one - it is wise to place it just right by the spot, not in it. Sort of like a sports arena, football field etc, bring players up to it, but not on it. We don't want to disturb activities that the site is actually meant for - or in this case: Grill people! 😅
I have no screenshot of the nomination before it was accepted (and moved), but this is where it is now:
Right where the fire will be on bonfire nights! Quite problematic, so please change it back to the nearby location, that was just outside of the fire area/seatings. Thank you. 🤞

Actually, the fire pit is like 5 to 7 meters large? You can see the grey area which is the 20 m interaction radius. I don't think this will create any fire hazard/danger to any players nearby. Moreover, since the wayspot is in the center of the pit, if you try to submit a location edit, I doubt it will be accepted since it looks to be at the best possible location.
"Rate 5 stars if you can find the nomination in the map and the marker is on or within a few feet of the real-world location of the object"
It was within a few feet indeed. There was thought behind the set location. There are more things than just actual location to considerate when submitting, can we agree on that? Proximity to fire, that's one of them. Proximity to other people using the fire pit, well, also one. Again, the 'bring people up to it, but not on it' strikes a great chord with me, I have to say. "Excuse me people, move your sausages and marshmellows, we have a raid in 2 minutes"... no? No. 😁
Again; Ingress players need to be right on the target to attack a portal most effectively.
Thank you for your thoughts though. 😊
Appeal Denied - Thanks for the appeal, Trainer. Based on our research, this Wayspot does not meet our criteria for edit at this time.
