Bonus Location and Home Location functions Switched?
So, Today, 11/23/20, is the day I could change my bonus location. However, even though it is past the time for me to be able to switch bonus locations, it won't let me change at this time.
I decided to see if there was a bug in the system and try to change the home location. Turns out I could do that if I want to, but I'm afraid that by doing so, Niantic might think I'm spoofing instead. Which obviously wouldn't be the case.
I will wait at least one day before I try again and see if this simply a bug in the system. If anyone has additional suggestions I'd appreciate it. I wanted to try and see if I could help a more remote area get some noms through quicker.

Why would you think they would think that?
The home location was intended to be used for the place you grew up but no longer live. It being different from your normal play area is exactly what it is for, you already receive submissions from your play area.
If I remember correctly, you're technically allowed one opportunity to change your home location - at least I know I was able to. It's possible that is the reason it is letting you change your location.
Niantic is known for sometimes having awkward "sync" times, it is possible that while you've met one calendar year you may need to wait a few more days to change your bonus location.
As a note about the spoofing concern, I don't believe there will be one. You can set your home location for Wayfarer independently of other Niantic games.
It's also usually assumed that your general review pool (theoretically) already pulls from 4 areas: your current area of play, your "home" location, your "bonus" location, and then nominations within your country of origin (and sometimes surrounding) that have been "upgraded" or otherwise pushed into a bigger reviewer pool. So use that to consider how to assign your locations.
