Restaurant Murals- Mass produced and What is Acceptable

There have been many discussions regarding whether or not these murals would be acceptable. There are a few people who say that these are mass produced and are not unique. However there does not seem to be any criteria that states whether or not something can be considered mass produced or not. I submit to you this question, what is acceptable forms of art? Can a rock which has a mural painted on it be excepted? Can a mural which has community value such as these be accepted?

I would really like for some admins to respond to this as well.

I would have accepted either of those. Although on the Good Fellows wall I would have tried a different angle and not on a tilt.

Murals inside tend to be a harder sell then a mural on the side of a building. Something about it gives some reviewers the impression that its not allowed, or you have to be a customer in order to see it, private property.... blah blah blah. None of those are true and it should have gone through but many reviewers are not up to date and educated to that specificity.

Neither of these meet criteria as far as I can see. 1* for both.

For these types of submissions, I look at the following:

Is it hand-painted, stenciled, or just a giant pre-printed poster? That helps me determine the artistry and uniqueness of the submission.

Is the name of the business in the mural, and is that business one of a kind, or part of a chain? Is the same mural present at other locations of the business? That helps me identify pieces that are just blown up logos or mass corporate marketing, rather than art.

Where is the mural located? Is it in a safe, open, publicly accessible space where players won't obstruct the general activity of the business? Photos taken at an angle suggest to me that the mural is in a narrow hallway or some other kind of cramped or inaccessible space, so I definitely recommend taking mural photos head-on whenever possible.

You did not share your supporting information, so you may have discussed many of these things there, but I also suggest focusing more on the nature of the murals themselves. Include the artist who created them - in the case of your first submission, for example, I can clearly see an artist's name at the right edge - and any information you can find about the theme or reason for the work. I've been able to find online news articles and/or artist websites or Facebook pages with helpful information for most of the murals I've submitted.

The first one I would have let through. The second one. I don’t know. Personally it just doesn’t seem unique enough. Maybe the angle.

I like them both and I have to ask: would they be within 20m of the restaurant Wayspot (assuming there is one), because if the restaurant is alreadya Wayspot these may not appear in any Niantic game, even if accepted. Indoor nominations can struggle and there are people who will rejected anything without a Google Photosphere or Google Street View regardless of how good it may well be. Sad but true.
