Possible solution: Russian make-up event for people who missed out on or did not receive rewards.

So there are many people frustrated with the Wayfarer team right now because they did not recieve rewards after reviewing Russian wayspots during the challenge. And on the Wayfarer team's side, we're told that they've done everything they've could with regards to ensuring everyone who participated got their rewards.
So, since we have a list of people who have received rewards, and a large amount of people who haven't received rewards, why not have a make-up event for people not on the list of reward receivers?
Could be over a weekend or a few days in the week, Wayfarer allows people to reset their home location to russia again, review local wayspots, and have a chance at getting the rewards again.
People who have already recieved rewards could also get more rewards, or be given less/no rewards for the make up, Niantic's call.
It would go a long way it making people more interested in future wayfarer events instead of avoiding it cause of being burned by this one.

Sorry, but I'm not too inclined to do the whole thing again to, in the end, be "not eligible".
THEY messed up, not the wayfarers. It's THEIR responsability to partake on their end of the deal, which they didn't.
If they want to fix the situation, they can just go ahead and do it. Which, by this moment, is abudantly clear that It's not what they want.
Why would we do more unpaid work just to get paid for the work we already did and for which they already entered into an implicit agreement to pay us?
I think this is a terrible idea. I see the possibility of doing more work for Niantic to still not get any rewards again. They are proving to not be capable of running an event here. No thanks. Also, why let there be an option for people who did get rewards to be able to get even more rewards, and us to only get our deserved rewards by doing more work again? I just want the rewards I was promised in exchanged for doing the work. That’s all. It doesn’t have to be that complicated.
Lol, nope.
You want to review more nominations? NoWay!
We, the community, have done OUR Job. Now it's Niantic turn to do (FINALLY!!!) THEIR Job.
Maybe this time around you guys can really do some reviews. All this complaining because you made 3 reviews and didn't get the rewards is an insult for us who truly participated and actively reviewed.
I'm surprised at the pushback this idea is getting. Like, Niantic for whatever reason doesn't have a record of people doing Russian reviews when they've claimed to have done them. So just opening it up again for a bit to get them registered for rewards seems like a good idea. It would be like a minute or two to review another russian wayspot. Way less effort than filling out a form or endlessly posting online about being mad.
But if people just wanna sit and complain, I guess let them.
"I got mine, firetruck everybody else"
Awesome attitude. 👍️
There's no way this company that has been firetrucking up the game since 2016 has firetrucked up again.
Upgrades prioritize the nomination. If everything (or a significant amount of things) are prioritized then nothing is really a priority. Most of the people complaining did the bare minimum. If it's possible to pull any active reviewer during the period and give them the equivalent of their time in game items that might satisfy the "free" work issue.
I think there's definitely people that deserve the rewards and didn't get them, sadly they are being drowned out byt entitled people who think they deserve rewards because they reviewed 1 nomination.
Niantic said that people had to do at least one review, so if you wanna blame someone, blame Niantic, not the people that thought that this is a serious company that sticks to their words.
Is it ridiculous to get 10 upgrades and the other items for one review?
Of course it is! Everybody can see that, but Niantic didn't change or clarified anything about it during the event, so they can't change it afterwards.
What's with this victim blaming some "older reviewers" seem to post from time to time? Niantic told us what we have to do to participate in the event and how to become eligible for the rewards. We did. But some wayfarer feel entitled enough to look down on everybody who did less reviews than them? Ofc they don't know how many reviews people did, but that's just what they assume or else they would have received their rewards, right? Classical victim blaming. This is plain silly and just reeks of envy or just a good ol trolly attitude.
Its not about doing "less reviews" its about doing basically no reviews and demanding rewards.
Let me clap and congratulate you on your new status in society. From now on you are "above" us normal peasants. Whatever I do, you believe you can correct my numbers downwards, like you just did.
Niantic never claimed 1 review is all that was needed until after the event.
One thing is participating in the event, another is coming in here and reviewing 1 nomination because reddit told you it was free rewards for no participation.
Oh very true, they used the plural of Wayspot in the official announcement, so obviously it is 2 reviews which are needed.
Participation according to the rules was met, therefore you cannot say there was no participation. Well, you can, because you are free to spread the untruth, so let's say you cannot say it and claim you are truthfully correct.
You came you tried you failed, move on.
Oh look, you are doing the downgrading thing again. Looking down on people around you, what a fine person you are. Makes me sad that I'll have to live my life without you around. The pain.
Says the person trying to take advantage of the system based on a technicality.
Yup, when fulfilling the requirements and expecting therefore a reward is "taking advantage of the system". That's the correct attitude you need to have, when you want to get rid of all the poor people in the world.
The point of the even was to get active reviewers reviewing in the area, not for you to do one review and get rewards.
One is the ends, the other is the means. For whatever reason your people seem to mix them up. Maybe you'll feel less envy when understanding the difference.
Yeah. You'd be totally right. IF people who did more than "one review" hadn't posted their review history on the thread that was closed.
Furthermore, one of the people I told about the event did EXCATLY that. One review. Guess what? He got his rewards on the first wave.
If people needed to do "X reviews", Niantic should have said that. But they didn't. To further add to that:

After all the backlash from changing the rules after the event, this was what they decided on. And failed to fulfill. Again.
So yeah, stop chilling for them because it's, surprisingly, not working.
Yes and i said, there are deserving people mixed up in this that are being drowned by the one and done crowd.
Nah, it's over. Niantic should learn from it and make the criteria clear next time. Like, reviewing a honeypot does not count? Reviewing in poor status does not contribute to the goal? Votes can be lost because of "visual glitches" or nominations taken out by internal reviewers? Whatever hidden criteria was used by the wayfarer team to find "eligible" participants. There must be visible indicator, "we received your votes, you're in", etc.
Why are you so angry that people get what they were promised? Because you spent more time that you needed to?
You could have stopped as soon as the goals were reached, but instead you requested an increase in the rewards, and of course that brought more people in.
This is what @NianticGiffard said:
If you read that sentence, you don't even need to review a single Russian nomination, only to have the hometown set to Russia and "review wayspots", so if you reviewed 2 wayspots and they were from your country, you're also eligible.
Again, that doesn't make sense, but that's the way that it is, and so anyone that reviewed some Russian nomination is entitled to the rewards.
If the amount of upgrades exceeds the average completed by the current reviewers in their maximum time period that they are willing to wait for an upgrade to resolve then upgrades will be useless. It's probably not possible issue all these upgrades earned and still have them work to prioritize the nomination.
And @Roli112-PGO the people that you're arguing with followed the rules and earned the upgrades and other in game stuff. I just don't think it's actually possible give that amount of upgrades and still have an upgrade work.
"Entitled" isn't a 4-letter word. If you enter into an agreement each party is entitled to the expected outcome.
You agree to purchase a sandwich, the sandwich shop is entitled to money and you're entitled to a sandwich.
You agree to do work in exchange for a wage. Your employer is entitled to work and you're entitled to wages.
We agree to set our home location to Russia and review waypoints in Russia, we are entitled to the agree upon rewards.
Actual solution: Give the people who say they completed the challenge their 10 upgrades and in-game items. Simple as. @NianticGiffard This is just a bad look for a company that has already received tons of negative press for scaling back covid bonuses during the Delta variant's spread.
