Flood disaster in Germany

First of all, I don't want to hear vague guesses from the community. I just want an official statement from Niantic.
As you have probably heard in the news, some parts of Germany are affected by severe flooding.
Now there is the following problem with Wayfarer: You get wayspots for evaluation that are correct in terms of location and meet the criteria - but of which you know that they can no longer exist because they have been destroyed by this catastrophe.
Should you evaluate this normally and pretend you don't know anything about the situation?
Or should one reject these requests?
Because not everyone is well informed and there will be major disagreements because some accept it and others reject it.
Also ... since hundreds, if not thousands, of wayspots have been destroyed ... do you have to hope that the local communities are honestly harming themselves by deleting all of their wayspots because they all no longer exist? Or will Niantic be fair enough to assess the situation itself and virtually clean up the affected areas ?
The problem will also be that even if the water disappears, there will be enormous costs to repair the damage, I think the cities will not have the money for monuments and information boards to replace them.

Wow, prayers to those affected. Short of getting an official response, how are you or others handling those nominations at the moment? As far as the removals, i think those can wait till the situation stabilizes, I don't see a reason for anyone to mass report everything at the moment, there's no need to rush for that. But the current stuff in the system will be very tricky to review.
I recommend just reviewing as normal & let it figure itself out later on after everything is more situated & finalized. Really does suck though. Just an awful situation. I’ve been in a flood before & it’s just traumatizing. My thoughts & prayers go out to those affected as well

Life has its ups & downs, the positive thing is that most of the time things always get better with time. I was in a flood once before & it’s just a traumatizing experience. I’ve been drawn back here all day long. I googled & saw some of the devastation & was in awe. It’s heartbreaking because I wish there was something more that I could do to help out. We all have our part. Praying for everyone involved. The entire world needs prayer no matter what religion you believe in. @Roli112-PGO thank you for that. Sad to read that, it must be a terrible experience indeed. My prayers to those affected as well.
I also agree with the "review as normal" suggestion, especially because it's just impossible to tell what's there and what isn't while we don't have any updated images... It's not correct to assume that everything is destroyed, because a lot of things do actually survive through a flood, or at least are not damaged to a point where it's too hard to fix.
Regarding the current POIs, I also agree it's better not to rush and wait for everything to stabilize. Why would anyone start reporting this kind of stuff right now, or why would Niantic mass remove it? It would be very insensitive (and just plain wrong, because as I said some stuff can withstand the flood).

@WayfarerMSE-PGO To answer your query, if there is conclusive evidence to suggest that the object in question does not exist anymore, the candidate can be rejected. We expect you to review the nominations the same way you would do in a normal circumstance while voting for location accuracy.
We bank on our players to report Wayspots that do not exist for our team to review them. I hope this clarifies things.
