I think we should all just boycott wayfarer once and for all!

Yes ofcourse I am saying this out of frustration and anger, due to not getting rewards. I too participated in the Russia challenge and have not recieved anything. I only did this to get the upgrades to add pokestops to areas that desperately need it. The thing is I feel like Niantic keeps getting away with everything and we end up being the big losers. We put in all this effort to nominate and review, spending our own valuable time for what? A game that they are profiting from. We get absolutely nothing and there will always be those who will continue to do their dirty work. We need to hit them where it hurts and show them that we aren't happy with their misconduct and blatant abuse of their community. We never made the rules for the challenge they did! and now they want to sweep it under the rug. The downside is those who did get rewards continue to do their work for them, so niantic couldn't care less about those who didn't get a thing. I'm so annoyed with Niantic for many reasons but this just makes me even more upset because I put years into their game and so many hours into doing reviews. Really you guys should be ashamed of yourselves!

I feel like addressing and fixing the problem would be more effective than rage quitting. Look, I’m not thrilled with this whole thing either. I want the rewards I was promised for the effort put into this event too. All we can do is continue to spread the word, document our proof and experience, be persistent and try to make some change because something obviously isn’t working.

Ture. But the point is: Does Niantic WANT to fix the problem? Or even RECOGNIZE that there is a problem?
Seeing as this same issue happened on the Indian wayfarer challenge, and how that also left people in the dust, I believe they don't.
Niantic sometimes isnt able to see the problem.
Did the India event have this problem? The article featured above indicated that it didn’t. I’m genuinely asking, because I wasn’t here for the India event.
The India event had different advertised rewards. They did manage to mess up part of the pokemon go rewards. Everyone who participated was suppose to increased murkow spawns during the festival of colors. However, those spawns were geo-locked to India. As a make-up reward, they gave us 5 upgrades. Upgrades were never advertised before event. There weren't as many participations because the initially announced rewards were kind of lame. It pretty much attracted a lot of people who were more interested in helping areas without a lot of poi's rather than get rewards so they wouldn't be as likely to care about rewards.
That’s good to know. Thank you for the added context.
I still stand by my words. I am not bothered to do any reviews any more and hope others stop as well. I have done 100s of reviews for them and this is the way they treat their player base. It's not just this but Niantic in general deal with everything poorly and I'm kind of sick of it. If I lay a complaint in Pokemon go because the game crashed and took my raid pass(with proof), they close it and give a generic response and have the attitude of "so what must we do". Niantic are are making way too much money to be this stingy and greedy.
I went from ~50 to ~350 reviews because of this challenge in a month, and I've stopped doing it after they told me they would not give me any rewards. Enjoy the submission waiting times, folks.
"Hello everyone!
After receiving feedback from you folks we have given it yet another look to check the eligibility of your rewards from our end.
However, after looking into the accounts carefully (after consideration of screenshots and timestamps shared by you), we can confirm there were no Russian nominations reviewed during the event.
We will also post an announcement sharing an update on the rewards soon for better clarity."
@NianticGiffard Hello. Can you give me an example of why my reviewing doesnt count?
From my log:
Футуристичный Спортивный Комплекс 55.918738,37.816919" Mon Jun 14 2021 02:01:48 GMT+0200 (Central European Summer Time)
1) This clearly is in Russia. It is a location in Moscow, Russia. Feel free to look at the coordinates.
2) Timestamp is proof of being within the event timeframe.
3) I submitted a verdict, otherwise it would not show up in my log. I marked it as "duplicate".
So what exactly is the issue here?
@trottkopfhirn-ING They are going to cut off eligibility at first goal met due to collaborative nature of advertisement. It's a way to intrpret the original advertisement. The post on the Sliph Road reddit was one player's interpretation of the advertisement which was too good to be true.
So then how come wayfarer arriving in the last days of the event did receive their rewards? You are simply plain wrong with your assumption.
@sophielab-ING I agree that this is most likely the internal decision, yet it should have been worded better in official communication to the userbase, as it leaves too much room for interpretation, like you said in regards to the reddit post. But let's wait for the aforementioned official announcement.
@Litronom-PGO It's important for people to read original advertisement. Realize it's going to subject to contest rules. It's definitely not the best worded thing. I think they've probably had the legal department look it over and we'll get an explanation at some point in time. No matter what they do lot of people will believe it's unfair. I really wouldn't think about running another event, it always gets messed up.
Yeah I don't think it's cut-off based on the date. More likely, those 2-5 pois on everyone's list were
honeypotspre-reviewed nominations, training material, etc., and wayfarer team did not count it.Wichser!!!
You should not only boycott wayfarer, but actively discourage others from reviewing either. Spread this on Reddit, on Twitter, on your local Discord channels.
Make Niantic pay for reneging on this promotion.
