Would love to do this, especially as I've set my location to Cape Town for reviewing after the Russia challenge, but I've still not received any of the rewards promised to me from that challenge. The nominations from Cape Town are usually pretty nice, though it's hard to confirm the location of a lot of them since google maps hasn't been there in years.
I didn't have a good experience in Khabarovsk, Russia, where I only found terrible candidates that looked like Pikachu stickers, so it would help if the place had a lot of good quality applications left over from over 5 years ago due to lack of judges.
Personally, I think South Africa has the most applications left.
And again we will be play with changing locations. It would be enough to add in the wayfarer profile the selectable option "take part in the wayfarer challenge"
Problem is that most reviewers will select a big city. That's mostly because they don't know the country and just google a large city, and ofcourse because of the "we will not get any rewards if we select a small town with nothing to review" mindset.
Do you expect that the new event will say "you'll get rewards by doing reviews" or it will require a minimum number of reviews/agreements?
If it's the later and you select a location with few pending nominations you might find yourself out of the rewards due to your willingness to help the rural areas.
So certainly people will select big cities, no matter the country.
I was under the impression that some of the last challenge shenanigans was because the intent of relocating your bonus or home location was to help people who were originally from the country and lived elsewhere, not people from elsewhere who just wanted to cash in. And that that might have been partly the reason for not giving rewards. Does anyone have any sense of whether "outsiders" are actually welcome to help out?
If so, I totally agree that there needs to be a simple opt-in feature, and the entire country should be part of the pool you get, with the algorithm pulling from sparse areas first, but always supplying you with something. That's the obvious and easy way to do it. I hesitate to change my home or bonus location if it can't be reset immediately when the event ends.
It seemed clear that Niantic was inviting everyone to help with each global challenge. They didn’t ask for familiarity with any region, language, or culture. They said: Hey, everyone! Wanna help out?

Glad i could help!

I voted for South Africa as it is the most interesting candidate for me. Any recommendations cities, besides Capetown & Johannesburg.
By the way I have never heard about Pokémon GO or Ingress Group from Africa so I am not sure how many eligible Submitters there.
I voted for South Africa. Like many females of my general age group, I was named for a city there - and that's where I'd base my reviews.
"Dear Bronkhorstpruit
Thank you for your recent vote in our Wayfarere thread............"
😉

Voting for nowhere. Not participating and encouraging all others to boycott this transparent scam.
Niantic reneged on rewards for Wayfarer Challenge Russia and they will do it again.
I hope it's in Brazil, it's hard to be able to play Niantic games away from the big cities.

Any new yet? 😏
They’ll likely wait until they’ve updated Wayfarer and have Pokémon GO nominations back live again before announcing any results.
Mindset or facts?

That makes sense indeed.
I would rather say facts after Russia, but that's based on other wayfarers their negative experiences.

I go for South Africa. Hopefully it will all go smoother :)
